Located approximately 90 highway miles from Chicago, The Inn is a favorite vacation and business destination as well as an upscale meeting and special event venue. Phenomenal stay! Blown away by the hospitality of this hotel. I left something in the bed that easily could've been wadded up with the sheets and they found it and are shipping it to me. From day one, my stay was excellent and I felt very well taken care of. The amenities are also unbeatable.
Beautiful hotel. Nice location. Nice room. Terrible customer service. There were young children running up and down the hall screaming and making a big racket. Called the front desk to see if they would do something or maybe move us to another floor. Wouldn't move us and actually hung up on my wife while she was talking to her. Called and asked for a manager. Hung up on us again. She went to the front desk the following morning. Clerk seemed annoyed my wife would even bother her with the problem. Asked for a manger again. None available. We were booked for 5 nights. We checked out after one night. We won't stay here again.
The hotel is fine, has great food and has everything you need gym, cafe, fast internet. My biggest critique is the lack of cleaning and housekeeping. I stayed there for 6 days, and the room wasn't cleaned once! I complained to the front desk, and they said their policy is just to 'refresh' the sheets and restock towels, etc... for overnight stays- no cleaning involved. This doesn't make any sense, especially for people who are on business travel and staying there for extended periods of time. The toilet and shower weren't cleaned once in 6 days! I've travelled all over the world and have never seen such a policy. They should change it to cleaning the rooms fully, if not daily, every other day at the minimum!
Rooms are nice we had an issue with first room they put us in was not cleaned properly and food was open and a bottle of liquor was missing. but they switched our room for us. Hot tub is great indoor to outdoor. Place looks nice. Convenient location rooms need to have microwaves because the food from the tavern was not very good at all. Soup was the only good part.
We had a fantastic stay during our holiday vacation. The staff and amenities were just what we were looking for. The bellman greeted us with a smile and educated us on the property. The food in Plank's was fantastic, a must try for brunch and dinner! The pool and hot tub was just what we needed. We were also able to the complimentary shuttle to into town to check out a local spots! So nice to be able to have a reliable, safe ride back to the hotel. We can't wait to return in the summer and enjoy all their offerings.
