Always a great experience. They have seasonal latte flavours that are great. Lots of variety for pottery to paint. Instructions were clear and everything was easy to use.
Spent our 2nd Saturday afternoon at The Hive and enjoyed the atmosphere very much. My friend loves the painting part but we haven't seen our results yet and will wait to come again when there are more options to choose from as the shelves are getting pretty empty! Staff are good at managing the business and supporting each other, and we were very happy to get in but the reservation limit needs to change and be available for everyone, small groups and single people included. Thank you for being flexible!
We got there for opening, and within 10 minutes there was 5-7 tables full of people in addition to ourselves getting ready to paint, so definitely show up early if you go on a weekend. The environment was very relaxing and the staff explained to us how the process would work when we arrived. I didn’t try any, but there were many drinks and snacks available to choose from. After 2-3 hours we had finished painting, prepped our pieces for glazing and left. 10 or so days later we returned to pick up both pieces, but there was an issue with one of them that wasn’t disclosed over the phone, so we were told we’d have to make a return trip for the second piece. We were very frustrated by this inconvenience, as we don’t live nearby, but thankfully the owner was very apologetic and understanding of the situation, and worked with us to find a resolution that we felt was fair. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try, and plan to go back sometime, but if you don’t live nearby I would wait an extra day or two after you’re told your piece is ready before going to pick it up, just in case any complications arise that could result in having to make an extra trip.
Such a great idea, brought the nieces and they LOVED it. Also really enjoyed painting my own piece. Tons of colours to choose from and I dig the wall with examples of how the colours will look when they're all done, takes away a lot of the guesswork. Also, 10/10 vegan lattes. Hardest part was picking a piece to commit to lollll
We had a party at the hive. We were given 1 hair dryer for 6 people keep in mind you have only 2 hours to paint. No water in the room and we had to ask to be helped.nnInstructions were clear in the beginning. At the end we had people telling us they will come and get us and our pieces once time was up to pay. Then next lady came in with a bit of an attitude telling us our time was up and when we said we were told to wait with our pieces to pay she told us we have to come out and pay without it so we were confused with the contradicting instructions.nnWe then all go to pay and gratuity 18% was already included in our prices which was in no way shape or form deserved. We all are more than generous tippers and the service was worth a MAX 10% tip. So we definitely did not add any additional tip to the 18% gratuity.nnTo top it all off the girl at the cash didn’t even know the pricing for a basic plate and tried to OVER charge an 8 year old which is WILD. When you work in customer service you can’t have a nasty attitude and they all seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing nor worked on a Saturday before… it felt like any question made them aggravated.nnIf you plan to go here. Don’t book the party room. And check your receipts for over charging. Do not expect great customer service either. So unfortunate clay cafe is gone…
