The Highlander

Let me start by saying the Ribeye I ordered was excellent. However, there were two really ABYSMAL parts of the experience here. Each part of the dinner, including: getting a table, ordering drinks, getting drinks, waiting to order food, getting appetizers, and getting entrees, all took at least 30 minutes EACH! No joke, we were there for many hours. This was especially unacceptable as there were two waitresses and only 5 or 6 tables filled. I have never had this quality of service in my life. The portioning was laughably bad. I would have taken a picture but my phone was dead. The "side of vegetables" with the steak was literally two stalks of asparagus. The "side salad" was just 4 bites or so of mixed greens. Anyway, I would love to return if these issues are fixed, but won't be until then. Edit: Forgot to mention, one of the waitresses was definitely very drunk...

Great food (and more than enough of it), wonderful waitress. She did briefly get confused about a couple details of my order but promptly returned to make sure she got it correct. Prices are typical of "fancy restaurants" but it is real food (not the all too common micro-servings many of them serve).

My wife and I love to dine here when we are in the area. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The food is very good and a nice option vs the other restaurants in the area (fried Sysco bar food). The best part is the staff. They're always friendly and attentive. They also have live music on Fridays and Saturdays which is always excellent. This place is a jem.

The Blonde waitress last time we where in complained about the owner and his ability to run the place to the extent it was uncomfortable. The next time we came in which was tonight (5-21-17) we got the same server. We order three appetizer, none of them needed much prep. It took over an hour and a half, this was with five tables in the entire restaurant with people at them. After quietly waiting that long we asked when are food would be ready she immediately brought it out and it was cold. Then she proceeded to tell us it was our fault because we didn't make a reservation. I asked if we need one for appetizer, she had another snarky remark about if we wanted to be served on time. I also stated other tables came after us with out reservation and got their food before us, no response. I repeat that we had been there an hour and a half. This waitress is a constant here and is always complaining about her boss and customers out loud to other customers. She's unprofessional and because of her we won't be back.
