Such a great place to go for fresh, hot, crunchy Schnitzel! This place makes it right! Like the original owner Hans used to make it, it is still being fried up just like it was 20 years ago. Yep, I've had it as a child that many years ago. Back then it was decorated differently but I was happy to see the mural and giant angel are still there although the monkey on strings was missing. So if you want some juicy hot Schnitzel like from Austria, look no further. I won't even try anything else from the menu :
Stopped by this place on our way to a cabin in Golden Lake. It was a lovely spot and the service was quick. I got the mushroom schnitzel and it was pretty good. The best part of this place was the beautiful interior decor and style and we admired lots of beautiful paintings in the restaurant.
Great little place for a more unique food experience with specialization in schnitzel varieties and European style dessert choices. Speedy service, decor with local artists' paintings, it is worth the stop on your travels through Eganville.Food: 5/5
Great little spot the staff were very friendly very kind lots of amazing art on the walls it was are first time trying schnitzels and we were not disappointed lots of options to choose from we will definitely be going back to try out other things on the menu
Cute little spot. This place definitely has an old vibe to it which makes it unique. The schnitzel was good. I ordered the large carbonara schnitzel and the gravy it came with was amazing. The size of a large schnitzel was definitely worth it. Spent 60$ for two!
So great place. Tasty meals, very friendly and knowledge staff. Thank you!
This place has the most amazing authentic schnitzel, spetzel, and sauerkraut!!! The sauerkraut is homemade and served warm, I would even feed it to my Dutch grandma it’s so good! Also, if you manage to leave room for desert, I got the Viennese Cheesecake which is to die for, and my mom was in love with their apple strudel. The Granary is also sooooo good about accommodating allergies! Since pretty much everything is homemade, they know what’s in every single menu item, and were able to safely accommodate my anaphylactic citrus allergy which is impressive, most restaurants can’t. Definitely stop by and grab some lunch and dinner if you’re in the area a reservation wouldn’t be a bad idea depending on the time of day and you should even feel comfortable taking your persnickety Dutch/German/Austrian grandparents here. P.S. Don’t forget to add an order of sauerkraut, it’s a huge portion for the family to share and some of the best I’ve found in Canada! P.P.S. Sorry no pictures of the actual meals, it all disappeared too fast for that, lol.
Very friendly and welcoming employees, the place is a bit old and needs a renovation. The food was ok we ordered the chicken schnitzel it came with fries boiled carrots and broccoli. The fries were good the rest was ok . The price is a bit on the high side 21$ for 2 small pieces of chicken and fries . It is part of the experience would I go back I don’t think so . The 3 stars is for the service the food would be a 2 stars .
We have had two great dinners at The Granary. The schnitzel is so crispy and flavourful with a variety of sauces to try. The staff are very friendly, we showed up close to closing and were going to get takeout but they let us eat in with no problem. Is a great spot in a beautiful area, well worth a visit.
First visit last weekend. Great atmosphere. Food was delicious, fresh and cooked the way I hoped it would be. Large, tender cuts of Schnitzel cooked with the right amount of crisp on outside that wasn't overdone. Large plates and servings were generous. I'm a big guy and I dunno where some of the ppl on here that are complaining about prices vs. serving size are dining, because all of our parties plates were portioned larger than other Schnitzel focused places that we've been to, and the price was on par with the rest. We had a reservation. Restaurant seated us promptly. Guessing 75% capacity during our dinner, and service was friendly, attentive and did a great job. We will return.
