Wow this place is awesome. If your hungry this is the place to eat. Had the chicken schnitzel with house potatoes and sauercrout then had dessert. Apricot crepe. Delicious food and the staff are great. Helpful with explaining what are the different foods. Will be going back.
A local restaurant located in Main St. Newmarket, The Goulash House is a must visit if you’re looking to try delicious Hungarian food The menu is accessible through a QR code, and once you’re ready, you just let the server know. We ordered the Beef Goulash and Schnitzel on a Bun you can choose between chicken or pork, and both took roughly 10-15 minutes to arrive. I loved the Beef Goulash, it was very flavourful and there were a lot of tender chunks of beef shanks in it too. I would say it’s the perfect comforting meal to have on a cold winter day! The Schnitzel on a Bun was also very nice, the buns were soft and the chicken was nicely battered too. It’s made similar to a katsu but it’s much thinner, less flakier and definitely didn’t taste as oily. Try dipping abit of the bread in the Goulash, it’s a great combination The Schnitzel on a Bun also came with fries and I loved how it was nicely seasoned as well! We definitely had leftovers as the portions were quite generous. Would I recommend visiting this local spot? Absolutely! IG: Ayenomz
We had a lovely diner there. Friendly staff and fantastic food made our visit to Newmarket quite special. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and seemed quite a popular option for the locals. Big portions so bring your containers!
Wanted so badly to love this place and was super excited to finally take the long drive to try it but it was SO disappointing. The goulash had the grossest cuts of meat. After two bites I couldn’t keep eating and had to throw it out. It had thick veins which were super chewy as you can see in this pic . It was also really oily to the point of making me sick. Super disappointed. What a waste of $21 for one terrible goulash.
Great food. Just a terrible place to do business with. Ordered food, it came exactly as expected. But I was over charged heavily. When I went back to give them the avenue of correction, after explaining the order i received via the items I received, the bald male kept saying "that's ok". I really didn't want Lil Cesar's tonight. *** Edit. They have now responded. $46.37 is what I was charged for a schnitzel and and a goulash. I went in there asking if something was missed off the order. I was ordained with the holy blessing of customer service within my experience. They didn't even entertain the idea that the younger blond woman, or expo may have messed up my order. These people are toxic for customer service.
I was impressed with this place, clean & comfortable inside, food was delicious & the owner/host was absolutely lovely. Both me & my husband went on a whim, hungry but not starving didn’t know what we wanted but curious to try somewhere new, both got pork schnitzel each & the plates are FULL we had to take some home make sure you go hungry lol, you get a lot of food for a good price, next time we’re hungry & in the area we definitely want to go back & try more off ther menu. Highly recommend.
Here’s what I ordered: Wooden Platter for 2 Mini Goulash Stroganoff Apple Strudel Not an ounce of regret for any dish. What a treasure we found and a delightful staff that is helpful and friendly. I’ve been to Budapest and the food is identical. Loved it and will come back!
Owners of Newmarket's Goulash House have opened in Bradford as the Lil Shnitzel Shack.Food: 5/5
I was devastated when Goulash House closed in Newmarket but so relieved to see the same owners re-open in Bradford. Same great food. Absolutely best Hungarian food I have had, huge portion size and friendly service.
This is the successor of the "Goulash House" on Main St. in Newmarket, ON. The food and service is absolutely fantastic! Traditional Hungarian fare...Pork or Chicken Schnitzel, cooked to perfection, not greasy, and crispy coating. Beef Goulash, Chicken Paprika so good! Their Spaetzledumplings are so yummy. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant... Parking: Strip mall parking Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant on ground level
