Epic schnitzel! Came here with friends, had the schnitzel and went home with overflowing take-away boxes. All the food we had was perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. Service was pleasant and attentive, but the decor and surroundings could use a bit of sprucing up. But since the portions were massive and so well cooked, we are already planning another visit unfortunately, we live in Waterloo, so it is a bit out of our way. We will be back.
Tried Czech food last night, just look at the size of this weiner schnitzel it is huge! It came with so much fries and also a side salad. Came out of kitchen crispy and hot! Also had the beef goulash with bread dumpling basically steamed bun had nice spice flavour and veggies but the beef was very lean and chewy, roasted beef in root vegetable cream sauce was a little dry and tough but the cream sauce and side of cranberry sauce made it much better and also got the beef tripe soup, caution very oily and super hot, very black peppered taste. If you come here definitely order the schnitzel. The food was great for sharing, and tip don't order the schnitzel individually, you will not finish it. Note, decor and ambience is a pub/bar with billard table vibe, very casual.
We had an amazing experience. Food tasted authentic , fresh and high quality! It was really really good! The staff was all very nice. We went on a Sunday so they had live music which made the whole experience even better. Ivana was really nice to us and Patrick as well. We had a great time. We Wanted a real Slovakian experience and we got it! My bf had the Zlaty Bazant beer , which he loved. It was his first time trying Halusky and roast beef with sauerkraut and dumpling and he loved both dishes! We got Mila for desert which I was super excited about as that’s one of my favorites! We r definitely going to come back! Highly recommended!
Comparing Central European restaurants in Toronto, this restaurant is the most authentic from all of them. Slovak menu, many Slovak and Czech favorite dishes, beers and desserts. Pros: food came very soon, big portions, perfect taste. Cons: interior looks a bit old, patio is basic with no any idea. Prices are similar to other restaurants, but I would prefer smaller portions and a bit lower prices. In general, I can definitely say it’s value for money.
Delicious Czech food. Freshly made. Huge portions. A musician was playing the Cymbal while we were eating. Amazing atmosphere and great family restaurant!
Second time here and it's the same. Great local Czech/ Eastern European food. Wiener Schnitzel is my go to non only because it's gigantic bigger than my face but rather delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable and portions are excellent. Service is great. Interior is old and outdated, but who cares, its all about the food and experience! My go-to place for Schnitzel in this part of town.
The best hidden gem for humongous chicken or pork schnitzel and generous portions of potatoe salad. Their Slovak potatoe dumplings with bacon bits are just heaven.
First time that we've come here and must say bring your appetite as the portions are huge! We had the Schnitzel and was very tasty We'll be back!
Best schnitzels ever ?? We picked up 3 schnitzel dinners with yummy potato salad and tartar sauce on side ... drove back to Waterloo and had a Euro feast at home. Us Czechs, and even our daughter's canadian boyfriend, loved it. There was so much food left over, we were eating it for 2 more days! Portions are massive, taste and seasoning of food is spot on, service is friendly and accommodating ... what's not to love? You owe it to yourself to go and try it, I am fairly certain you won't be disappointed.
You'll never get Schnitzel like this anywhere else. The portion of pork is enough for three meals. Highly recommended. Sorry the Czechs lost the other day to Canada while we were there.... sorry, not sorry.Food: 5/5
