We had lunch today at The Friendly Society in Elora. Amazing experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Very nicely decorated, comfortable, not too big or small, not too loud and is very clean. The staff is incredibly nice and work hard. We had a beautiful waitress named Haleigh that looked after us really well and was very sweet and helpful. She took our orders correctly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We were there with my kids and Richard, who looks after the kitchen, gave them a quick tour of it, which was a great experience for them. Best staff I've seen in a restaurant in a very long time. Now the food - absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, nothing was greasy or overcooked, we had good sized portions and it was plated nicely. On the photos you'll see the Mediterranean bowl with added shrimp, the fish with a Caesar salad, mac and cheese with a poutine, fried calamari, the strawberry shortcake and some drinks. We loved everything! It was all so good and done to perfection. I've never been to this restaurant before but am already looking forward to going back. Thank you to Haleigh, Richard and the amazing staff for the best lunch we've had in a long time. A+ Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options, something for everyone Kid-friendliness: Have a kids menu with popular kid choices
Incredibly delicious. The lunch menu is very unique. Lots of fun cocktail options, as well as gluten free and vegan food. I got the strawberry rhubarb margarita, the crispy artichoke appetizer, and the Mediterranean bowl the seasoning on the tofu was tasty!. Everything came fast and our server was very friendly. The patio was busy so we ate inside. Recommend coming early if you want to get a spot on the patio, as there are no reservations for the outside area. The building is historic and the decor is cute and trendy.
First time visiting and experience was amazing! Our table gave us a lovely view of the water. Staff was very friendly! We ordered an assortment of appetizers to share. They were all delicious and no complaints! Tried the peanut butter cheesecake for dessert... PERFECTION! Highly recommend trying this restaurant!
Overall a good experience. I’ll start with the positives. Atmosphere is fantastic and the vibes are immaculate. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome. Our food was definitely good. The Buddha bowl was fresh, wings were tasty, and the fries were delicious. Thin cut crispy fries are done perfectly here if that is your preferred style. Although we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, we were kindly offered a free drink on the house. There are a couple things that could be improved. The wait time was quite long but… I understand they were understaffed so that is very forgivable and I wouldn’t expect this on most visits. Don’t let it deter you from coming here. The Buddha bowl was good, but not as flavourful as I would’ve liked to experience. Additionally the menu on google needs to be updated, the prices have increased quite a bit see picture of updated menu. It is understandable for prices to increase but they should remove older pricing from google so customers aren’t mislead. Overall a fantastic place to visit, but this is not a lower-priced restaurant. The food is good, but slightly overpriced for the quality and flavour. I’ll be back though!
Disappointed. The place was packed and had a waiting list. We waited about 20-30mins to get a table here. I'm not sure what the hype was for this restaurant. The food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwiches and the beyond burger. All 3 chicken sandwiches were tasteless, no salt and probably burnt. The beyond burger was super salty and the fries were not great. We also had nachos which was probably the only decent food item here. Not worth the price either. Service was also average given the place was crowded. Would not recommend unfortunately, especially the items ordered. Maybe other things could be better.
Great little place, friendly and polite staff. Delicious food and good portions, price was reasonable. We sat outside for dinner, ordered Charred corn Gnocchi with shrimp and Lobster Mac n cheese. Would definitely go back.
Surprised when I saw inside, so cozy and authentic. Professional, friendly and fast service. For appetizer, we got Tuna Tartare and Squash soup. The Tartare was amazing, so fresh and tasty but I didn’t personally like the soup as the ginger was too much. For entrée, we got Fish & Chips and Crispy Chicken Sandwich with truffle fries. Fish & Chips was fresh, crispy and fish was tasty itself as well. I really enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich, crispy as said and tasty. Fries
I dined in at The Friendly Society on my quick trip to Elora in July. They offer amazing drinks and delicious food menu. I tried fish n chips, which was good the outer shell was a bit over-fried, but it tasted good. Their patio is cute. Sorry, I lost my food pic.
We picked this place based on a Google search during our visit to Elora and walked in. They didn’t have any spot available until 3 hours later, so I’d suggest making a reservation in advance. Luckily, they gave us a spot at the bar. The food was super tasty and the food presentation was great. We had crispy chicken sandwich and tuna bowl, and both were delicious. The staff were friendly and nice. Would highly recommend this place.
Great place to catch a bite and people watch. Food was great! We enjoyed a perfectly made Greek salad and the charcuterie tray. This place also offers some delicious non alcoholic beverages other than the usual Caesar, which was a nice change. The patio is accessible but the indoor area is not.
