Place has excellent grilled prime rib! Never had it grilled before and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had thin crust bbq chicken pizza and french onion soup & said both were very good. Deep fried cauliflower was good also. We had 3 cold beers. Our waitress was very nicesorry forgot her name. Our total bill was $58. That was an awesome price for all that. From the outside the place looks like a run down hole in the wall. Inside is a homey country feel well worn. Definitely a hidden gem! Only downfall was no air conditioningwindow air conditioner on the fritz, but we didn't mind at all. Kudos to the cook!
I was visiting Lake Huron on a whimsy, and decided to find some food. And there was Forester In! Cheesy baking broccoli bites to start. They were warm and toast. Very cheesy, and crispy. I felt like I ate them too fast. The main course was the bacon cheeseburger, medium. The bacon was crispy and delicious. Onion, lettuce and tomato topped it off well. The fries that came with it were perfect! Not greasy at all. I asked if I could have a Bahama mama, and they said yes, but they had to look it up. And honestly, it was the best one I've had in a very long time. I look forward to going there again someday to eat!
The food was excellent, our table had all you could eat Walleye, Frog Legs……BUT…took for ever to receive our food . No where does it mention call ahead order your food then show up and immediately get served while everyone in the restaurant waits for their orders. Took over an hour for our food to be served. When the all you can eat Walleye people ordered seconds they were told you have to wait until we defrost more??? What a shame…..Call ahead….
I been here three times i came here with a friend once and had a perch dinner it was awesome, not greasy at all, then we ordeted a pizza that was awesome and then tonight i ordered a perch dinner to go and you got a good share of perch. Very friendly atmostphere for a small town i just started coming over back in January of 2023 once a week. I love the people everyone is so friendly. Keep up the good work, great food and awesome people.
With the exception of the cookowner's attitude I would recommend any of the fish dinners! However when it comes to a steak...well if it's not done enough just re-grill it!! Not serve a fresh properly cooked steak, but when confronted the cook said ok, but However it turns out is what you get. It took us over an hour to get our food and then my daughter had to wait an additional 45 min for the replacement steak.

I had lunch here for a reason. My Uncle own this bar in the 60’s and I would spend time there with my parents . Nice memories. Food was good and plentiful!
We live 30 minutes from this place and had never been until last year. A HIDDEN GEM!! We love frequenting and supporting family owned businesses and we're so glad to have Forester Inn so near! The steaks are grilled to tasty perfection, the AYCE walleye is amazing, the little salad bar is great to have when so many places don't nowadays. They do get busy and are sometimes shortstaffed, BUT the staff they have ROCKS! It's always cozy and comfortable. We go typically 4-5 times a month and are really looking forward to the next visit.

Great food, great staff, good value. The steak and ribs were better than expected. The kitchen was really slow. We waited well over an hour for our food. Hopefully just a one time occurrence. I would dine here again.
