We brought our mom out for Thanksgiving dinner. We got there an hour after they opened. They were out of some sides. One being beans that they serve breakfast, lunch and dinnerFood was delivered without sides, had to ask for rolls 4 times and the food was cold. Asked for plate to be warmed up, 15 minutes later they brought me back a different plate that someone else had already eaten from! Asked to talk to the manager-- turns out she was the one that ran our food and forgot the sides!!! She was very rude but did take the meal off, no Thanksgiving meal this year! To top if off, they didn't have any apple pie! They were very unprepared and rude. The manager could use some serous coaching on customer service. She will drive customers away...we won't be back ever.
This location is nowhere nearly as good as the Hermon Coldbrook Road location, which has always been our go-to dining spot for many, many years. My friend and I went in for dinner tonight around 5:30 p.m. It was FREEZING in the restaurant! I actually think it was colder inside than it was outside. We sat there shivering and bundled up the entire time. Even our waitress commented on how cold it was. We both ordered the French toast platter on molasses bread. However, we both received white bread. Our eggs were freezing cold just like the restaurant and the bacon was rubbery, cold, and had a horrible aftertaste. Neither of us could eat it. There were very few patrons in the restaurant, yet the service was extremely slow. We were there for over an hour because of the incredibly long wait to get our food. We will not be going back. We normally go to the Coldbrook Road location, which is far superior to the Broadway location, but we happened to be in the area, so we stopped in. Never again.
Food was good/average. Not a great selection on menu! The young gentleman waiter was EXCELLENT!!! He's only been there 2 months and was very personable and polite!! He was the best part of our visit!Food: 3/5
Ordered take out Dave's favorite hash dish and a hot hamburg sandwich with a side of onion rings. Corned beef hash was quite disappointing and VERY crispy. Hot hamburg sandwich consisted of two slices of bread and a dried out looking burger..that's it. You read that right. It was $16. The "deluxe" side of onion rings was an extra $2.25 which is not a huge deal. However, when I called to ask if this was how this dish was served as I hadn't ordered it before, I was told it should have come with gravy, which is what I had expected. I called and spoke with Sara who was a doll and very sweet and she spoke with a manager. They offered to give me a $10 gift card. Ummm ..I just paid $8.25 for a side of onion rings that should have cost $2.25. absolute fail today...would not recommend to anyone..ever.
Not impressed. The place was recommended as a favorite among truckers and locals. However the food quality is just average. Despite the inviting name, the maple bacon scallop is a letdown. The syrup is watery and overpowering in sweetness. The scallops over-cooked and hard to chew. Staff is okay: professional and courteous but not necessarily friendly. The place does have interesting decors and that's probably the only memorable part.
Service was terrible. One member of our party asked for a straw and a spoon for his milkshake, and he finally got the straw a few minutes later, with no spoon. I ordered the "creamy" Mac and Cheese, which was served barely lukewarm and was pasty - far from creamy. It was served without any cutlery. I asked for cutlery and then had to go to the counter to get it myself. This place has really gone downhill.
The service and atmosphere was very good. However, food was absolutely disgusting. Will never eat there again. In my opinion, the food has gone downhill for several years now. It just isn't the way it used to be.Food: 1/5
The food was ok the service was slow as hell 3 waitresses in 1 room still took 20 mins to even get a coffee. Once we did get to order the food it came pretty quick and was hot.Recommended dishesSausage Gravy
We stopped in for a late breakfast mid week and there were several tables taken but the restaurant was mostly empty. The service was good, the bloody Mary's were excellent. Try the bacon version! And the breakfast skillet came with toasted buttered bread-there's a choice of probably six different types - white, wheat, rye, molasses etc. Great place for a quick decent meal at good price.
Order bacon breakfast pizza. First the staff was rude. They continuously walked by me and service/seated other people without asking if I needed anything. Made eye contact a few times but was still ignored. I finally spoke up and was greeted with attitude. Went home and started eating and found shells in my pizza.
