Halibut and chips was fantastic. Perfect amount of batter. Fries were fantastic too. Fried perfectly and nicely seasoned, not soggy. Both were fried perfectly so they weren't super greasy. Oh yeah the deep fried pickles and chicken fingers were also on point. I didn't dine in, but the atmosphere looked cosy, clean, modern and it was packed on a Friday night, so obviously a popular dine-in spot as well.
The fish and chips were amazing! I can really appreciate when the oil is changed out regularly as it results in no oily residue on the roof of your pallet. The quantity and price were fair and the service/hospitality was too notch. I would highly recommend this place:Food: 5/5

Awesome fish & chips. The Halibut was perfectly cooked with the right amount of crisp. The tartar sauce was too good. The Jumbo shrimps was great and the accompanying sauce was one of a kind... Great food ... Would definitely visit again..Food: 5/5
Went there today and was not impressed at all went there around 4:30 asked if you ordered online said no they said the wait time is 7pm. So we decided to go outside and talk about our decision while we were outside talking the guy making the fish outside under the tent decided to get into our business and ask what we are looking for we said fish and chips but it’s too long of a wait and he said that’s how it works you order online and if you go anywhere else you’ll have to wait hours, you should check our Facebook page tells you everything. We didn’t respond back as the guys tone was very rude and my dad turned around but still standing there and I was still standing there the guy decided to call my dad a swear word while shaking his head cause we didn’t respond why respond to someone who’s going to be rude towards us, my dad did nothing wrong to be called any name. Once I heard that we decided forget about it they will never get our business thats not how you treat a potential customer. Also the fish is not fresh we watched it come out of a cardboard box frozen and right into the deep fryer. We took our business somewhere else and we waited in line at 5 and got our food at 6:30, not like the guy said hours if you go somewhere else, way better then your time of 7pm or later as you guys were behind. Nowhere did it say you have to order online most fish and chips places it’s you go there wait in line and get your food, they take away the ordering online for Good Friday.
I always get the halibut and chips here. The fish is evenly crispy and they give a nice amount of fries. Every time we place an order, pickup within 10 minutes. Great service, great food. We order at least a couple times a month.
Excellent fish and chips. My partner and I stopped en route to Cobourg and it went were super hungry. I had the halibut, he had the haddock. Nice and crispy. The chips were perfect and the tartar sauce must be made in house. Definitely not Kraft. So good! Would definitely recommend and would visit again.
One of the best fresh cut fries in town, gravy is tasty and the poutine is a generous portion with gravy and cheese curds. The halibut is crispy and enough fish to batter ratio, always good! The service is always great! We are always greated when we walk through the door and staff are always friendly. I would definitely recommend The Fisherman for your next meal.
Super fabulous food...... We got cod and chips my husband isn't a big fan of fish but they guys there packed it up individually for us.
The food was great, service was quick wasn't too busy and it was not too quiet, but also not too noisy that talks can't be heard... definitely worth another stopFood: 5/5
