While I am fluent in English speaking I am not a Native American English speaker and was looking for some classes to brush up my accent, so I am able to communicate more effectively for work and my day to day life here. I have been taking accent training classes from the English Circle for about 6 months now. David has been my instructor from the start and he is a blessing! He approaches the training systematically, and takes you to the basics of the sounds produced by a Native American English speaker. He customizes the course according to needs of every individual. I have found his course to be extremely useful for me and my peers have noticed a tangible difference in my accent. David is meticulous and patient and takes personal interest in the growth of his students! His technical and ground up approach to my classes has helped me immensely and I cannot recommend him enough!

I have always been looking for someone to help me to practice my English speaking skills as well as improve my accent. I was looking for tutors in Toronto to correct my pronunciation of words to suit the Canadian/North American accent and also to modify my accent. I reached out to many tutoring classes in Toronto. Still, it was David from The English Circle who was the most thorough in his response, detailing the program structure in detail and letting me know what I can expect from the sessions. The program structure is tailored to an individual's needs, assessed in the first session with David. David identified the areas of improvement in my pronunciation and speech and developed a program to address these issues. After completing the program, I am a lot more confident in my public speaking, knowing fully that my pronunciation and accent are now closer to the Canadian/North American way of speaking English. David is easy to communicate with and is very calm and friendly during the sessions. He makes it a point to make the session more interactive. He responds to e-mails promptly and quickly. David is an excellent teacher, I did pronunciation classes with David for nearly a year. It was very beneficial for me. The diagnostic session with David was helpful. From it, I learned about the sounds and words I have difficulty pronouncing and words I used to pronounce all these years incorrectly. During my virtual one-on-one classes, I learned about different types of sounds, phonetics, and the role mouth plays in making various sounds. During the course, we practiced all sounds. After each lesson, David provided practicing notes and audio, which was very helpful. David's classes are practical and efficient for adult learners trying to improve their pronunciation.

I'd highly recommend the English Circle because I improved my English skills extremely. David is a great tutor who helped passing the IELTS test; I was able to reach the requested English skill level which was required to apply for the permanent residence. Whether studying in a library or remote during COVID, David was very flexible and fulfilled any needs.
