I'm very happy that they renovated and make good use of places like this. People worked really hard to design and build these places, even with the Depression and stress they always make them safe and pleasing to the eye. This period, this style, is so nice to see today! We have a similar Union Station in KC and it almost did not make it!nThank you for saving this building, renovating it, and finding good use for it. I really appreciate it!nI quite enjoyed just wandering around admiring the building. But the exhibits were nice as well. They have full train cars you can walk into! And an old timey electric car that someone graciously donated.nI really liked the temporary Antarctic dinosaur exhibit! It made great use of the space there and was a near design and fascinating! The entrance/exit was a bit confusing.nOh my GPS did not give me good directions for the entrance to parking, so make sure you give yourself time and patience for this.nThank you taking the time to do this, I wish you well!
We really enjoyed this museum. It is really well-done, and the lobby/main entrance is stunning! The museum is housed inside of the old Omaha Union Train Station. There are a lot of exhibits related to Omaha history, trains, and current events. Well worth the stop!
A wonderful experience for tourists and locals! Beautiful, interesting for all ages, educational, and very courteous staff! Our family visited the museum for the first time to attend the annual tree lighting ceremony Christmas at Union Station and we stayed until closing time. My kids didn't want to leave the dragons exhibit. We just purchased a family membership and look forward to visiting the museum regularly for future events and exhibits.
They currently have the Artic Dinosaurs display. It's neat to go thru but not a lot of activities. More watching video clips. Basically tells you how they dig for fossils in the Arctic climates. More reading of things. Better for older kids 11 & up.
So we went to see the dragons exhibit it was actually pretty good unfortunately the virtual ride was down for a dragon Enthusiast like me all the information was pretty much basic but there was a lot of it the huge dragons in animatronics were really cool I like how they had some of the interactive spots
