An English style pub in the heart of St. John’s. a really cool atmosphere and super friendly staff and patrons. I had the fish and chips with newfie fries stuffing and gravy. The cod fish was delicious. Lightly battered and full of flavour. The fires were tasty but it was about $6 extra for the stuffing and gravy. I hardly got any stuffing mere flakes and the gravy was good. Served on a super small plate where it was hard to cut the fish without it falling off. Otherwise this was a great spot to visit and I’ll be back.

This is no doubt a proper pub. Very much enjoyed sharing storys over a few pints with the townies. Good folks here . Thank you for the hospitality. Cheers!

Get here early in the evening if you want to grab a spot in order to eat, this place is a must so it was busy! I had the fish and chips with dressing and gravy and it was a big portion and one of the best fish&chips I’ve ever had. Incredible fish and batter and dressing, great gravy, got a few drinks from the bar, amazing dinner. They squished tables in and still had people waiting but it was a great atmosphere, and my waiter provided great and quick service. Definitely will be back on my next trip.

One of the best places for real fish and chips. Had the 2 piece and my wife had the 1 piece with garden salad. The batter was light and crispy. Fries were also good. It was happy hour and the beer on tap was dark horse. Amazing local beer. Will highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing food, the fish and chips was pretty much perfect. Amazingly crispy, but not too bready, yet the cod inside melted in your mouth.nnFriends recommended the place and we're very glad we listened to them!
