The Draft Pub

This place is all about the location, which makes it a great spot for beers after playing hockey. As it is a student bar, the prices used to be quite reasonable. I was surprised the other evening when I ordered a Belgian Moon and payed almost $8 for a pint. The price is in line with other pubs in the city, but I'm not sure it is sustainable with students as their primary market. Time will tell. The service is ok, but I always head straight for the bar to get my first beer to avoid waiting at my table. The atmosphere typically consists of uni students and hockey players along with the several TVs showing sports. The food is typical pub food, whl8th nothing standing out as extraordinary. I will be going back to this pub, and I look forward to it!

I play hockey here and go to the pub weekly. It’s great that it’s convenient and has cold beer but that’s about where it ends. It is usually understaffed with just one server trying to manage large tables of sports teams. They are frequently out of stock so you have to run down the menu to find something that is available. As a result of being short staffed the servers are perpetually in a foul mood and don’t dare ask for water after playing hockey. This place could be a real gem but seems to be horribly managed.

Not a bad selection of beer and the bartender was friendly in my experience. My 2-star rating is on an absolute scale - manage your expectations - this is a university campus bar. People go here for a quick pint between classes or to drink their exam woes away, not for a lovely experience.

I was here several times while studying at University of Ottawa. The food and beer selection are pretty good considering it's a campus bar. There are bar games available here as well. If you're lucky, you might even catch some live hockey there are windows looking in on the ice.

I hate to give this a bad review but this is what we found. We ordered 2 pounds of chicken wings and discovered they where precooked and then re fried and served to customers. The chili fries yet another disappointment they deep fry your potatoes and then throw them in a microwave with some good old stag chili so everything is nice and soggy. with only 3 tables with customers they had no reason for bad quality food.

My favourite pub on campus when I went to school here! It's never as packed as the other places and the service is quick. The drink selection is great and the food is pretty good too! It's a nice place to frequent with friends!

Absolute terrible service. Our table was appalled with how rude the waitress was name on the receipt was Carlee. She was short, unpleasant and made no eye contact. After serving our first round of drinks, she didn't bother to revisit our table for the rest of the night; instead, she decided to fold cutlery with a friend at the bar counter. Will not return.

Pool table, more expensive @ 1.50 than 1848 but in better condition. A there's a good view of the hockey rink. Plenty of tvs. Service is quick and there's giant Jenga. Recommend for most occasions from sporting events to pre and post drinking binges.

We come up for wings after our hockey game. The pub overlooks the ice surface. Team nachos are free but light on toppings. :-

Excellent spot for a bite and a drink. Prices are reasonable and the service is great. Also helps support the students working there
