The Downtown Spa

I was lucky to win a skin analysis and hydrfacial with Bonnie of Faces Derma Medical situated at the Downtown spa. Bonnie is very knowledgeable and is very concerned with your comfort and understanding of the treatment. My skin feel amazing and fresh. Thank you so much Bonnie !

the brazilian wax was really sloppily done and painful. had to stop halfway, with a bunch of hairs left unwaxed in areas where it had just been waxed. had to pay full price even though half of it was done poorly. it was my choice to stop it due to the pain but the condition that the areas that had just been waxed were left uncleaned/untweezed. only a couple hairs were tweezed and she called it a day. it was a very hurrying vibe for the price. the room was really messy and poorly cleaned. the assistant who stood to the side watching was very sweet though and had some helpful advice about my first time getting waxed. I was trying to make conversation about a friend who likes to get lip fillers done because I saw it listed as a service at the spa just to distract from the pain. she proceeded to tell me I probably *will* get lip fillers. pushy statement but okay.

My daughter went in to get her hair cut into layers and the stylist did a great job and took the time to explain to her how to style her layers!

I hate being the person to write a bad review because I support local businesses, but this is super upsetting for me. I had got my eyebrows waxed at the Downtown Spa before and never had a disappointing experience. I went in this morning, and Michelle did my eyebrows. I asked for a clean-up but not for half my eyebrow to be waxed off. This definitely ruins my self-confidence a little bit. I've always had nice brows and never had to fill them in. Hoping my eyebrows will grow back. For some reason it won’t let me upload a before and after photo....

I had a great experience today with a lovely woman named Tara. I went in for a shampoo and cut and she was more professional than i have witnessed at some other salons. She looked at my hair and asked me exactly what i wanted and delivered it well! Highly recommend!

I had my hair cut here a few times. Always a great experience. If you transported the downtown spa into Ottawa you would pay double what you pay in Arnprior! It is a great upscale salon with talented stylists. Always my go to place.

Beautiful salon with very experienced and professional hair stylists and estheticians. I've been getting my hair done here now for about 3 years and I've had a very positive experience each time. I especially like how the staff there are friendly and remember my name even if I have not been there for months. I highly recommend the Downtown Spa .

ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE.. My stylist told me my hair would be a blonde ombre at the end of the appointment and she did not get anywhere near what I had asked for or what she had told me my hair would look like.. I paid $200+ for my hair to be done and styled.. she did not have time to even fully blow-dry my hair.. because she had a client after me.. I felt very rushed and not relaxed which is what my intention was going into a spa.. I paid to have my hair styled curled which also did not get done. My stylist ensured she would fix my hair later in the week free of charge.. but when I went to book the appointment free appointment she said she was unwilling to touch my hair and that I would have to wait months before she considered touching my hair. I understand that going lighter is a process but promises were made by the stylist and I also paid for a service I did not receive. They refused to even give me any of my money back.. Had I of known my stylist was lying about fixing my hair free of charge I wouldn't of paid a dime that day in the salon. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
