Super good local spot! You definitely get a bang for your buck. We got the lobster rolls and they were all meat! Very big chunks, it was over flowing with meat. I noticed they had a variety of lobster dinner options that were very reasonably priced and some came with an app and dessert for $27 ! I would recommend this place and would certainly go back.
Great food! Scott the new owner is in the house! See photo You can tell by how the staff takes care of you. Very attentive and helpful. Come check this place out! It’s not closed, you will not be disappointed!
Good food with friendly staff. Burger was great so is the lobster roll, fish was bit over cooked. Blueberry pie was spot on with very tasty ice cream. Bit expensive and small portion, wait is bit long. Having free wifi is a plus. Not the best you could have in the area but not bad at all.
This restaurant is just reopening after being closed for a year. New owners are very nice. The food is good quality. The dinning experience is "Clam Shack".
"The Docksider" is a true family run local eating establishment. Seemingly a mother and daughter pair took our orders and served us all night. It could be assumed that the mom was enjoying herself since everytime we looked over she could be seen head bopping to the Beyonce music that was being omitted from a speaker in the background somewhere. Onto the food portion of this review... unless it changes just do yourself the favor and order item at the top of the menu sandwich board proped up outside the order window. It should read "Lobster Roll" and if it's not at the top of the menu it doesn't matter because it should be what your getting. Don't give anything else another thought. Price is irrelevant because your gonna need to do what ever it takes to buy one of these bad boys. I don't care if you need to take out a 2nd mortgage on the house, sell the car, cash in some stocks or give away your first born...just do it. What will arrive before you is one heck of a roll. Nicely toasted and buttered ready to go. There is also none of that extra filler material. No lettuce, cabbage, onion, greens of any sort. We are talking straight on lobster in a roll! Now see exhibit "A" of me preparing to consume this bad boy. Notice how the bun is bucking in the middle. Yeah that phenomenon only happens when you load a bun with so much lobster that it's reaching its max tensile strength before tearing in two. It's almost or might be in your best intrest to eat the lobster claw and tail chunks that are over flowing out the top of the roll for fear that they might accidentally hit the deck! As for the fries they were nicely salted and a tasty addition to the roll. Make sure to stop by The Docksider if your visiting this town or hiking near by!
Good generic seafood options but the restaurant is quite rundown and doesn’t give a good vibe. A little sketchy to be honest. Was the only place open in the area outside of bar harbour.
My family has been going here for years! Haven’t been there recently due to Covid but they are the best spot for chicken tenders, fries, and lemonades after a long hike. Hoping they are open this summer because we miss it!
Still closed as of 7/7/22, but there seems to be construction action. I hope they survived Covid and can reopen. They're the nicest people on earth and on of our "must visits" whenever we get to Northeast Harbor.
Great service and food. Highly recommend the bear sandwich grilled blueberry bread, honey, cheddar, apples, and blueberry great vegetarian option! Probably one of the favorite foods I had on my trip. The staff was very friendly and the place has cool vibes and the food was really good. Overall great experience, highly recommend. Ignore the negative reviews, they sound like they’re from stuffy rich people.
Saw this restaurant as we headed to the marina, and decided to order a sandwich. I ordered a lobster roll with fries, $20 seriously overpriced, and let the waitress know it was a to go order. She brought it about 10 minutes later in a foldover box. After I picked it up, and while my wife was ordering some ice cream, I sat at one of the tables inside and began to eat. She told me I could not eat it there since this area was reserved for "eat-in" customers. So, I went outside to a covered area with tables. I was again told I could not eat there since only "eat-in" could eat there, and there were picnic tables outside where I could eat. I looked around, and there only 5 people in the supposed "eat-in" areas...me, my wife, and 3 people at one table in the covered area. I went over to the picnic tables, and both were totally covered with puddles of water. I went back into the restaurant, and let my wife know we were leaving. When the waitress saw me, I told her, "if you want me to eat at one of your picnic tables, then clean it off because it is covered with water." At this point she curtly told me we could eat inside. However, we left. First, the French fries were really good....actual cut fries and properly. The lobster roll was fair at best. There were good sized lumps of lobster, but not seasoned properly, and rather tasteless. Nothing was done to the roll except slab it with a little mayonaise and shredded lettuce. I had a bite of the peach ice cream, and it was quite tasty. All said, the owner of this restaurant should pay some attention to the customer service behavior of this one waitress, and train her properly on how to treat customers. If you want good fries and ice cream, then frequent this place. If you want less than adequate customer service from an attitudinal waitress and a lobster roll that is fair at best, then go here also. I will not be back.
