Story

The Den and Black Lounge Restaurant is owned and operated by the Students’ Union, University of Calgary. Our restaurant, bar and night club is located at the hub of campus in the MacEwan Student Centre. Our establishment has been a student tradition for over 40 years. We cater to the student and faculty members at the University of Calgary and thrive on offering a memorable dining and entertainment experience.

Good food at a pretty much unbeatable price. What you get for what you pay is well worth it in my eyes. Drink selection is pretty solid and the prices are fair. Service was solid and we had no complaints. I would absolutely go back.

For a student bar surprisingly good. The food is pub food, but generally decent quality/higher end of the spectrum. Service is consistently nice and attentive in my opinion. It’s a solid 4 stars for what it is, I’d say

This a very nice place to relax after a long day studying; beer can be cheap on happy hours, and food is not bad.

Food is okay and are well-priced, service is good. The specials are well worth their price. Would recommend for students looking for an easy night out with friends.
