The Dahi Poori was simply a show stopper. It was so yummy, we went back to have more of just it a few days later. The rest of the food was also wonderful and left us both amazed for days. Great portion sizes, and friendly staff. The food is very authentic and can be quite spicy, be sure to ask if you need it mild.
This was some of the best if not THE best Indian food I've ever had. No hyperbole. I mean it. Crazy that it's right outside Bancroft! Clearly made with love, none of it was greasy, portion sizes were generous and the cuts of meat used were good you know how sometimes you get goat and it's nothing but bone? Not the case here. You can tell the difference in quality coming from this family owned restaurant to Indian food even in big city establishments. Spicy without being hot unless you want it like that we tried many different dishes on the menu. Between my father, my wife and myself we couldn't get enough of the flavours. From mango shrimp to garlic nan! The goat curry is phenomenal. Just wow. Absolutely blown away. They'll even give you red and green chili's to throw into your food if you want it even spicier. I live two hours away but I've been thinking about the meal we had for the past few days. This sounds like a weird compliment, but again, speaking to the extremely high quality of the food and how delicious it was, I rode my motorcycle back home for two hours and not once the whole night did I get a telltale gurgling in the belly. Really! Do yourself the favour and go eat here! It's worth it!
A group of us tried The Curry House for the first time after hearing good comments from others. We were all very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. The Chennai chicken was excellent and we enjoyed the garlic naan. The shrimp mango curry was also very good as was the chicken korma. It is great to have an Indian restaurant in Bancroft to add some variety.
My husband and I love to travel for food, and for once, we didn't have to travel too far to get some amazing Indian food. There was 4 of us and we ordered as many things as we possibly could. Needless to say, there was hardly any left over. Awesome flavours, great price and wonderful people. Thank you for opening in Bancroft! It's so wonderful to have another option and especially one that I can bring all our family and friends to!
Decided to give the new restaurant a try and we were not disappointed. Order way more food then we could eat but had to sample a few items. The Smashed Samosa Chana Chaat was to die for! The Naan was great to dip into the sauce of the Angus Beef Curry which was spicy but not horribly spicy. The amount of beef which was so tender was wonderful. We also ordered the Kadai Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Both presented so nicely and had such lovely flavour. Nothing was greasy and the portions were fantastic. All was well worth the wait and cost. We look forward to trying some other dishes on our next visit and we will enjoy the leftovers that we were able to bring home. Thank you so much and it is so nice to get some ethnic food close to home.
Stopped in for lunch. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Had lunch special and some samosas. Everything was very good. Service was great. Bathrooms were clean. Will repeat.Food: 5/5
I ordered paneer tikka masala , dahi poori , daal makhni and naan but the worst part is only taste of dal makhni was good rest of items are totally worthless in dahi poori I think they forget to add dahi and paneer tikka masala They don’t cook it properly sorry please focus on quality
After talking about it for a couple of months, my wife & I finally had a meal at The Curry House. We started with samosas, then shared garlic naan, a chicken korma and kadai chicken, with mango lassi to drink. We finished the meal off with rasmalai. Everything was delicious. We have eaten in perhaps 12-15 different Indian restaurants in Canada & the US, and I don't think we have ever been more pleased with a meal than we were tonight.
By far the best place to eat in Bancroft! The best quality food and tasting!! ****I wasn't an Indian food fan at all prior to my first visit! Now I'm hooked!!!****** You really can't go wrong with any of the currys here! I highly recommend the Chicken Korma! I have to return for a 3rd time to try more but so far I haven't been let down! Also I recommend the fried cauliflower appetizer!! It's incredible!! I don't have pictures because I can't help but dig in right away which is unlike me... Vegetarian options: They have a whole vegetarian curry section as long as the meat curry! Parking: Loads of parking! Dietary restrictions: Vegan but no mention of peanut use so be warned of that
Highly recommended! We enjoyed All our Delicious food! Support Local Folks!!! This place should be Packed on any night especially Mondays when the rest of town is closed up. All items fresh, tasty and satisfying. Sweet, Exceptional Service! Generous portions and we will be return customers with family and friends. Indulge in the variety of dietary options and flavors here! Best meal in the Bancroft Area and more affordable than most. You must try The Curry House-Indian Cusine, From The Mild to Intermediate Spice Lovers this did not disappoint.
