This is a fascinating Chinese mall to venture through. The majority of their products is their groceries in the farm market area. There are plenty of fresh produce, meat and baked goods that might pique your interest. A lot of the stores in the rest of the mall are pretty interesting to look at. My only complaint is that the mall can be a little confusing to navigate, especially since the layout of the mall goes into a couple loops and there a couple floors as well, which I did not look into. This is a good mall to look around in.
The Asian market at Crystal Mall is a vibrant and authentic experience! Packed with colorful stalls, exotic ingredients, and delicious street food. It feels like stepping into a real Asian marketplace lively, cultural, and full of amazing aromas and flavors!
The mall is very dated in terms of facilities and management. Escalators have been broken down for more than half a year. Their food court on 2/F is always very crowded. There are supposed to be two escalators taking people up and down, but one was blocked for ages for repair and people had to walk up and down on the other one. Now the other one has also been blocked for a few weeks. There is a notice to ask customers to use the escalators at the central court, but the downward escalator there is also not working.nnImagine there is an emergency like fire, how could so many people in the crowded food court escape speedily with just one not working downward escalator at the other side of the mall and a very steep stairs in the center court?nnThe management should expedite escalator repair at least for safety reasons not to mention convenience for customers!
If you’re after an authentic Chinese market vibe, this spot delivers. The ground floor mixes groceries with small specialty shops, while the second level is lined with food stalls serving everything from hand-pulled noodles to bubble tea. The layout is a bit of a maze, so plan on wandering—and maybe doubling back—to find everything. Underground parking is free but tight, so bring your small-car parking skills. All in all, a lively one-stop hub for shopping, snacking, and people-watching.
One of the best parts for me was grabbing lunch up at The Crystal Mall - Food Court. There were so many stalls with dumplings, noodles and bubble tea that I felt like I was on a little food adventure even though I was still in Metro Vancouver. I tried a pan-fried pork bun and a mango drink and both were tasty and affordable, and sitting there with lots of other people made the whole place feel lively and real.
