Story

At The Coop, we have a long heritage to honor and preserve. During a time when the retail world is becoming ever more complex, with challenges and opportunity coexisting, The Coop has been serving the community for over 26 years - and we plan on being around much longer! We are a great supporter of our neighbourhood, as is the neighbourhood of us. We take this relationship very seriously, and this demonstrates our shared commitments that directs our approach to value and community service. At The Coop we try to bring the big store selection to midtown Toronto, while keeping the small store mentality.

Though our founder Vev Kline has retired, we spoke many times of “maintaining his legacy” and we are committed to doing just that. We have seen many a change in fashion as well as in the retail world, but even with growing Goliath chains opening up on every street corner, us small guys are still hanging around.

Additional growth has taken place in our infrastructure. With Michael and Krista Corallo joining our team, we are truly a family business staying true to our core values. Jeff Cairns also remains as a 25 year veteran of the business who takes pleasure every day from the development and fairness in our workplace. That we find ourselves in this position is a testament to the hard work and energy and inherent strength of our company. We appreciate the confidence and support that our many patrons have expressed in our ongoing commitment to move our company forward.
