The Commune is an awesome restaurant! Whether you're a vegetarian, gluten-free/dairy-free, or an old school meat and potatoes person, you're sure to find something you'll love. The Chef is easily the best in Pictou County, probably all of Northern NS and beyond. Their staff are friendly, fun, and have lots of suggestions on their menu favourites. I highly recommend the Commune!!! The Atlantic Benny and Tuna Tostada are the most delicious brunch items. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos, or the tapas! Oh ya they also have tons of fun entertainment in the evenings, live music, trivia and more, or you can sit back and get some work done while enjoying a Leafs or Raptors game at the bar.
Great place, food is fantastic, atmosphere is awesome, and the service is above and beyond. Everyone there is very personable and welcoming. Definitely recommend. A side note, they try to provide entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening around 9pm, if you're into that, very fun, if not you will enjoy this establishment up to said time! Check it out, tell your friends!
The Commune is hands down my favourite place to eat. I have several dietary restrictions dairy-free, gluten-free and I am still presented with multiple options to choose from. All of which are delicious. Their menu set-up is amazing and allows for you to try multiple mini main courses for such a reasonable price under the ‘Tapas’ section. Essentially it’s a bunch of fancy appetizers that are packed with everything you’d want in a main. This is such a great idea and I know I am not doing it justice in my description. However, if breaking tradition scares you, fear not. They do also offer an eclectic mix of mains with fan favourites such as fish and chips. My personal favourite is their Piri Piri Chicken. Whether it’s brunch, dinner, or simply craving a cocktail there is no better place to go. Here are some photos i managed to take … most of the time I’m too excited to capture the beauty of the food and dig in right away.
Neat place to grab a bite. I recommend the sweet potato bowl if you don’t eat meat. There were a variety of things in it and the flavours were really good. I ordered the fresh rolls for an appetizer. It was good, but for the price I felt it was a bit much for just two. My husband ordered the Karaage chicken. It was not what he was expecting. It’s small pieces of chicken that are fried in the seasoned batter. He found it dry and a bit tough to eat. The atmosphere is nice and the service was great.
Amazing food and entertainment. Wonderful staff, great live music, and the best menu in New Glasgow. Try the wet lemon pepper wings.
Amazing food, great service, all around excellent place to visit for food, drinks and entertainment
Great place: nice atmosphere, good food and original cocktails for a very reasonable price. We had the tacos which were delicious. They also have a kids menu. On top of all this, the staff is super friendly - Theresa is awesome. Most definitely recommended.
Went for lunch, the atmosphere was relaxed. Looks like a nice place for an evening event as well. Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Margaritas were spot on. Tried the burritos and chicken wings neither were disappointing. Looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu.
Pretty nifty spot, them pork carnitas are moi moi bien! Tables don’t wobble and that’s a big deal for our group. Attention to detail **
Our family and friends ate at the Commune last evening and had a tremendous food experience. I highly recommend trying various appetizers, especially the Bacon Wrapped Date, Seared Tuna, Avocado Bites and Truffle Fries. The Spanish Toast was an amazing dessert. Very pleased to have made this choice to try!!
