Fabulous stay at the cabins. This was my second visit here, and it did not disappoint. The cabins are in a fantastic location, literally just seconds walk to the beach, and very close to the beautiful Wild Pacific Trail. They are fully equipped, and super dog friendly.
The cabins were gorgeous and in a beautiful setting but there was very little to no service. We were given a notice about a planned power outage the night before it happened and the staff pretended they did not know about it yet everyone we met and all other businesses prepared for it well in advance and a woman staying in the cabins next to us said that her host told her about it 2 weeks before and offered her a different weekend. I wish I had of known earlier and I would have planned better for meal ideas. I loved that we could bring our dog and the beach was amazing with amazing sunsets but I was hoping to nurse an injury by enjoying the jet bath every night yet as soon as I turnedthe jets on, my bathtub filled with black confetti mould and grime. It was horrifying and I had to jump out right away to shower off. Very disappointed about the bath experience. I should have heeded the warnings on other reviews.
We had a good stay at the ‘RainForest Cabin’ at Terrace Beach. The place was clean, with beautiful big windows to see all of the greenery and a nice balcony to get some fresh air. It was an easy walk down the path to Terrance Beach for access to the ocean. The in-suite laundry was awesome, especially for travelers with a toddler who had been hiking all week in the rain. The staff also provided us with a playpen for our toddler to sleep in, so we didn’t have to fly with one on our trip- thanks! There was construction going on closer to the water, taking away from the quiet, and also construction going on to our back step due to rotten boards- I’m sure that’s a normal maintenance thing that happens in such a rainy place, but regardless we were unable to use that entrance during our stay. Also, we had minor trouble figuring out the taps for the shower/bath pull straight out, don’t turn the handle, ha ha and were unable to reach anyone for assistance. In the end, it was a misunderstanding on our part, but not being able to reach anyone at 7pm for a bit of help, was frustrating to say the least. It also made me wonder how to get ahold of someone if a bigger issue/emergency were to occur? Overall, the cabin, amenities, location were all great. We saw so many Bald Eagles, walked Terrace Beach with our little guy, checked out the Wild Pacific Trail- all on the cabin’s doorstep. A beautiful stop on our Van Island road trip!
We stayed here last week. Honestly the room was ok and the bed was comfortable. It was a pretty spot to walk from. The power went out for 10 hours and no candles available and no one answered the phone. They have a power outage kit but it seemed lackluster. It says 99 a night but with fees it's closer to 150 so don't be fooled by the discount. Would I stay again.... Maybe but so many other places to check out. Oh and if you stay in the lodge. No way to heat up food or eat Zero dishes or cutlery so bring your own or you spend a ton at the co-op just to have something to eat off of.
First time here and wow! Amazing! I highly recommend. I stayed in the lodge, room 21. With a soaker tub and a fireplace and a cozy view from the balcony. Really enjoy the forest vibes and hearing the ocean waves from the room. I will be back!
Overall, this property Sabbatical Condo was an excellent vacation rental. However, the parking for the unit on the far east end of the building is virtually impossible to access when the neighboring unit has a car parked. This is due to a large jutting boulder hindering access and the absence of lighting. In fact, I scraped the side of my relatively small car trying to squeeze into the spot. I would advise parking somewhere other than the assigned spot, although other options are limited.
Love this place, been going for years with my family and friends. It's a hidden gem with great cabins and a private beach for the guests! Pricing is great for the areaRooms: 5/5
These cabins are brilliant - everything needed for a fabulous trip to this side of the island. Windows are surrounded by green, the interior is covered in rustic wood decor, and the beds are very comfortable note: Memory Foam doesn’t breath well so be sure to open a window or you’ll wake up in buckets. You will want to bring cooking oil and spices and such but all other staples are here and ready. Lovely fireplace, BBQ with plenty of propane, jacuzzi tub careful to turn the keys down! Can’t go wrong.
We loved it here! The cabins were clean when we arrived. They left a bowl of treats for our dog and that was nice! We stayed at the Shelter cabin.. it was cozy with a small but functional kitchen. The view from the cabin is beautiful and the sound of waves is just sooo pleasing! I would not have asked for anything more! I guess i will always stay here when i am visiting tofino!
Do not be fooled into believing these are anything close to seaside cabins . Much closer to the old apartment I lived in as a teenager. Smells like towels left in the washer too long. View is non existent. Fairmont prices for econolodge amenities. Save your money and hit long beach for a view .
