My wife and I ate at this restaurant before looking to see if the reviews were decent. Unfortunately. The restaurant appearance was fine and staff were friendly. I found it a little odd that you had to pay before going in, but we didn't think much beyond that. We had the brunch buffet and it was very bad. Out of the 10 different items we sampled, everything was either bland or gross. Their idea of eggs benny is basically taking a hard boiled egg and putting it on a potato skin... what the hell? Their seafood chowder tasted like canned tuna in milk We left hungry and $30 poorer. And that is probably why you have to pay before you eat 30% of their customers would probably leave without paying otherwise With as many bad reviews as this place has gotten over such a long period of time I'm surprised it is still like this. How are they still open? How do the casino owners allow this?
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Went for dinner. Got there early, food was warm so that wasn’t the issue, but every single thing we ate was tasteless and bland. No flavour at all. For $21 a person, and only about 20ish choices for food, absolutely terrible value. Staff is nice, atmosphere is nice, but food is horrible. The best tasting food was the salad and the soft ice cream. Pretty pathetic. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! Lotus Inn, or Tang Court have better buffets for much less money......
I am a breakfast buffet fanatic and frequently visit many different breakfast buffets. This used to be a great buffet for the price, but both the increased pricing and decrease in food quality have me looking elsewhere to enjoy breakfast. First off - no juice!? What did they do with the juice? Even the most scarce buffets I have visited has had a selection of juices to draw from. It just isn't a breakfast buffet without the juice. In their favor there is coffee and pop available, but kiss your staple glass of orange juice goodbye. The last few visits have been the worst. They used to serve a Benedict-type egg dish or a cheese & egg sandwich, but have opted out of the more time-consuming & expensive dishes for boxed eggs either plain or mixed with sausage and veggies and left to overcook and gelitinize in the pan. Sometimes they chop up the baked egg to give a scrambled effect, but other times it's left there like a dried-up egg jello that you need to cut with a knife. Lately the meat selections are either over or under spiced and always dried up. I watch them stirring the meat dishes to "refresh" them and I cringe because the dish should have been pulled 30 minutes earlier. I then hold out hope for pancakes or waffles - you really have to be doing something wrong to mess these up, right? Well, they messed them up. Again, forcing an extended dish-life these succulent little clouds of dough end up hard and nasty sitting for too long under the heat lamps. I've had to carve the hardened edges off the pancakes and waffles and add extra butter to make it somewhat appealing to my 5-year-old to eat! Again, you'd figure that I could hang my hat on the bacon and sausage, but again it's ultra greasy and dried out. Every time I approach the buffet hoping I'll luck-out with the addition of some freshly cooked cured meats, but I end up staring at overcooked, stale, and shriveled husks of the meat it was supposed to be. So, I'm left with a glorified soup and salad buffet and the soups can be a hit or miss depending on the level of seasoning. But hey, there's always ice cream to make it all better! Don't go there expecting service either. Half the time I'm lucky to have my used plates cleared in a timely manner, let alone flag someone down for a stiff Ceasar to help numb my frustration at how bad this buffet has become. I tried several times to talk to someone in person about how bad the food is and no one there cares enough to call me back. It makes me sad to see a good thing gone bad. My first visit here there was a custom omelet station with a cook standing by with a smile waiting to make my eggs fresh and my way. Juice was on tap and the food was fresh and imaginative. Add to that a smokingly low price and I thought I had found the best budget buffet in town. Years later they've increased their prices and got cheap and lazy with the food. I'd rather gnaw on an old sneaker than 90% of the food that they set out now. For the price range, do yourself a huge favor and pay a couple more dollars and go to Romeo's for the best breakfast buffet in town. If you're looking for budget, this is no longer the best bang-for-your-buck and you may want to head to a full-service diner like Scott's and order your meal. It may not be a buffet, but I guarantee you a great breakfast at a steal. Don't waste your time, or denture paste, gnawing on the rubbery eggs and dried-out waffles at The Buffet.
Terrible! Food hardly warm, lettuce brown, pasta lacked sauce, chicken extra dry, scalloped potatoes top very dry and so on.. I went right at start of supper expecting fresh and hot. Most of the trays were half empty. Went away still hungry. Teaches me to check it out visually before purchasing. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Foods gone downhill. Too hard too mushy. I have to run to the bathroom in the middle of eating. I go back every once in awhile with the hopes the food will be better because I really do like going up there but its the same everytime. The ice cream machine is fun though.
We have dine at the casino 3 times fist two experiences were good the Asian and Italian but went back on a Friday most of the hot food was over Cooked or dry. The dining experience was terrible. We had remove our own plates to a side table.
Wish there was an option for 0 stars. Absolutely disgusting. Rotten eggs, the hash browns were barely cooked, eggs Benny was basically raw inside and even my coffee curdled from the cream they had for us to use. Never will I go there again, and will advise everyone I know how bad this place was.
What a bunch of belly achers these 1...2 and 3 star people are. The food here is great. $16.95 for 55 and over. A great deal considering a meal at Mcdonalds will cost you that. Prime rib with yorkies......fish chowder...fresh salads. What more do you want people????? Don't listen to the neigh sayers.....try it!!!!
EDIT: 8 months later gave The Buffett another shot since in the area while not expect much as the food had gone downhill from when they first opened. We we're quite surprised today! Arriving at noon rather than 11am when they open the selections looked the same yet the food was still hot. On top of that the roast chicken has made a return and was cooked and flavored perfectly imo. Not sure if staff behind the scenes changed but we'll have to check back in a few weeks to see if this positive trend continues. ------------- Food was better when they first opened. Now not even worth the $12 for lunch. Confirmed today they no longer have roast chicken for lunch it is now only a dinner option on Thursdays and Fridays. Last month their breaded chicken cold, dry barely able to cut with a knife. One month later breaded chicken is "ok" but the Sunrise chicken cutlets from most store have more flavor and is more juicy than this stuff. This month they have tyeme and garlic pork chops which is now the dry hard meat and almost no flavor I went looking for a sauce to give it some flavor. The only reason I personally see any vaule here is the dessert selections which include soft serve ice cream, creampuffs and Nanaimo bars. This is likely the last time here as we'll be going back to the Lotus Inn lunch buffet.
Starving kids in africa would not eat here. Teriyaki beef tasted like a salt block. 3 different kind of eggs appeared to be cooked yeaterday. Would not give anybof the food to my dog. Would not gibe even 1 star. Eat at match beside this place and save yoirself a bad experience
