The beacon hill location of the brick is really good. No high pressure sales and inflated prices. Just straightforward customer service. We had Manroz help us with couches for our new home and he was very helpful and patient. Would definitely recommend going here. Everyone is so friendly.
I find it extremely disheartening that one negative experience can convert a customer’s perception of this Canadian based retailer from being a 10+ year customer that praised “The Brick’s” services to a customer that will now advocate against supporting this Alberta originated business. Please keep in mind that this experience occurred at the “The Brick : Beacon Hill located at 11860 Sarcee Trail NW in Calgary, AB” and does not directly apply to all “The Brick” retail locations. I have only received exceptional customer service at the locations in BC and NB. However, this was my only transaction with this location. After 10 years of support, this location has deterred me against this business in its entirety. On September 18th, 2021, a sales associate named Varun sold me what he stated was a “Brand New” love seat. I was advised that this love seat was part of the “Tent Sale” from the previous week and was now on clearance due to overstock. My endeavor was to find a grey love seat to match that of my two recliners at home. This sale was finalized with the comprehension that this furniture piece was brand new overstock reflecting the price, providing one year of manufacturer warranty, and delivery costs. It’s essential that I be completely transparent. The love seat was priced on clearance at $549, plus the $89.95 delivery cost. Reflecting all the other love seat pieces that were priced $600-$899 on their floor, I thought this was a great deal with the discounted price. On September 22nd, this love seat was delivered to my home. To my dismay, this love seat was entirely discoloured to the point I strongly believed that the wrong seat was delivered mistakenly. Immediately I contacted the customer service department. Akshpreet proceeded to explain that due to this love seat being on clearance that it was a final sale. I have absolutely no arguments regarding a final sale whatsoever. My concern was that the wrong love seat had been delivered to my home as this was not the love seat I viewed in store. We sent in photos of the discolouration and her response was that she did not have time to deal with this today and that it was the correct love seat. After review, my husband and I concluded that this love seat was likely placed outside during their “Tent Sale” and moved indoors afterwards. The discolouration was in result of extreme sun exposure as their price tag spot is what exposes the discoloration most clearly. Also on the side, likely due to being pushed next to the 3-seater couch, which is how it was place inside their dim lit store. Regardless, my point is mainly the integrity of this sale. I was completely blind-sided. The sales representative did not disclose the reasoning of this sale as discoloration maybe he did not know, but instead advised that the pricing was due to overstock. Varun NEVER told me that this love seat was placed outdoors, which he must have known. And when contacting their unsympathetic customer service, I almost felt like they knew that they “got me”. Just the robotic answer of the final sale. Not a goodwill gesture. Not even an apology for not disclosing this. You’re right, I feel like a complete fool. However, I will find the silver linings! I am sharing my story on facebook, Instagram, youtube, google review, and TikTok to spread awareness of skeptical sales tactics. How this sale went through with dishonesty. How to avoid situations like this! I’m not saying to not shop here. I am just suggesting to be weary. As clearly integrity has been surpassed by the commission that the sale’s representative had. I have shared my experience with other committed shoppers who agree that it was a very disappointing way of business. I will share this experience with my community, my friends, my family, my colleagues, and publicly. I certainly do not want anyone to feel the way I do! Now I shall go fabric dye my “Brand New” love seat!
I had a very positive experience shopping for a new bed frame and mattress. I was helped by Ismail, who was very professional and had strong product knowledge. He took the time to show me several different options at multiple different price points. He was transparent and forthcoming with information about the different mattresses and customer feedback that has previously been provided on the manufacturer that I decided to go with. I will return to shop here again.
This is the worst furniture store that I've encountered. Don't believe on their promises or don't purchase from them. They are the worse of the worse!!!!! Very disappointed!!!! My husband and I bought an LG 65" in November of 2019, we are happy with our purchase because they have a promotion that if you purchased from the Brick during that time you can avail a warranty claim amounting to $329 after 3 years whenever you don't use that warranty within that duration, and we maintained our TV in a good shape. Now, it's time to claim their promised "warranty claim." We went to this store in NW, Calgary, we showed our receipt, I even bought other products from them to reach the amount of $400, that is their rules when you are claiming this "warranty claim". The guy told us that they will phone us within the week whenever the product is ready to pick up, Now it's been a week and no call from them. I decided to call them today and for how many tries finally they answered my call.. the lady told me to wait for their call again because she said it will take a while to process the claim. I don't under why they do such a promises to their patrons and give them hard time to receive what they are expecting. This is the reasons why I will tell my friends, family and colleagues not to purchase from this store. I hope they will fulfill their promise.
We have gone to the brick in beacon Hill twice now once for a bed and couch and for a new washer and dryer. They always try and help as best as possible and always try to get your some sort of deal. They are honest and Karan was a fantastic help! Had some good laughs and was very helpful. Their stock was low and couldn't get our new washer and dryer to us until the end of the month and they knocked $100 off. I'll be coming back here for all my house stuff. And again can't thank Mr. Karen enough for all of his great assistance!
I am still having issues with a case that happened almost a year ago. I've reached out to the store and multiple people online on The Bricks website and no one has gotten back to me. I have been VERY VERY VERY patient with this and was giving this company the benefit of the doubt. I was told a settlement has been done last January. I still haven't received anything. To those of you living in Calgary Alberta, DO NOT! DO NOT! go to the Beacon Hill Location. 11860 Sarcee Trail NW. Management is absolute trash and unprofessional. They refuse to call me back after multiple calls and false promise of a call back. Out of respect for the company, I did not go in person to stir anything up. But I am getting very frustrated with how unprofessional they are with this case. If this case is not fixed, I will be visiting that store in person. I will also reach out to local news about this. People need to know how poorly this store is ran. Two individuals on The Bricks website said they have escalated this issue to head office and higher up. I was told management would contact me in 1 business day. This was July 12, 2022. It is now September 22, 2022 and I still haven't heard anything..... WORST COMPANY to deal with.
Really great experience, my consultant was Modassar Moe. It was nice and simple to buy a new bed and mattress set in Beacon hill! It was my first time buying furniture and Moe made it easy and was very helpful and sweet, he walked me through the process and options I had, answered any questions, and was overall just amazing to work with. 10/10 recommend him if anyone is a buying furniture, especially as a first time buyer!
Be aware of their scam warranty, we bought leather sofa sets, and sales recommend strongly we add their excellent warranty extra $400. In less than a year sofa started cracking, we called them, they sent an expert, right a way he said no fixable. They gave us a store credit 70% of original value to discover later that it was only valid for one year and got expired. They said sorry it was deleted from your account. We can’t do anything to help… hard luck.
The worst furniture store I have seen. They are not honest in the quality of the furniture they are selling, about the delivery time and the refund policy. We bought sofa set since last December 2021, it was expected to be delivered in March 2022. After several attempt to contact them to ask about the delivery and their response was awful from the very rude customer service and store manager, we received one sofa and chair on May, broken in 1 week. They refuse to return the sofa set, saying their policy says no return is accepted even with bad quality. After a month the decent technician fixes the sofa. Still waiting for the love seat every month they call telling us one more month delay. After another rude customer service agent deny they know any thing about the expected delivery time!! Even I asked to contact the manger to complain about her attitude and she was laughing and said yes the manager will call you within 24 hours, this was on the beginning of August and no one call. Very upset and will NEVER deal with store again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. NOTE: The stuffing of the chair start to collapse after 3 months used, the worst quality known.
Had a wonderful shopping experience with Hedi today at the Beaconhill brick location. Hedi was extremely professional , warm and knowledgeable while presenting me with all the mattress options that fit my needs perfectly. I look forward to working with Hedi again for all my future purchases at the Brick. For anyone considering shopping at this location, please ask for Hedi in advance and you will see what an incredible non pressure shopping experience can be for you and or your family.
