What a treat! The interior of this restaurant feels like an upscale pub and the food and service were top notch. We ordered the baked brie which was to die for. I ended up skipping dessert and just finishing that instead. For main course we had the steak & shrimp which was cooked to perfection, and the pulled pork which melted in your mouth! Definitely coming back here to try the rest of the menu!
Lovely space this, was packed even on a Wednesday night. The food portions are massive and great value for money. I loved the pork schnitzel and the prawn gratinee starter we had. My friends ordered a Ruben sandwich and Fish n chips, tried a bit and they were great too. The cocktails here are pretty potent and they also have a decent whisky selection. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again
Stopped by for a Thursday lunch. We had a lamb burger and an order of fish and chips. The burger was juicy, the fish was large, not overly greasy and the fries were excellent. Overall the food was great, not a single complaint. I have eaten here in the past, and had a similar experience today. I don't know if it's a sense of humour that doesn't sit well with me or something different.... Today one of the servers scolded us for not using a coaster under one of our drinks. It made me feel uncomfortable and put a damper on my experience. The food I've had here has always been great, the service has been cringy at times.
Came here on a Wednesday night; it was packed full of people! We ordered the baked brie as an appetizer. The price has gone up over the years; years ago it was $12, then $14, and has now gone up to $18. I can understand the costs of inflation but expected a bigger brie at this price as it comes with a small wheel of it. Delicious nonetheless. For our mains, we ordered the Yorkie and the cottage pie. The Yorkie roast beef was truly delicious and it was a filling meal. The cottage pie was good, your run of the mill shepherds pie. Gravy for the fries/pie was an extra charge. The brie took a long time to get to us, but the mains came pretty quickly. With how busy it was, we could not complain about the service. What did leave us somewhat miffed is that we were told, as we received the bill, that the card machine was unfortunately not working and we would have to take cash out of the on site ATM. I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt here and say maybe the machine only stopped working when it came time for us to pay, but otherwise I would have appreciated a warning prior to ordering all of our food. We thankfully had cash so we didn't need to get up and use the ATM, but it was inconvenient when we had been hoping to pay using cards. Overall an upscale pub atmosphere with good food, fairly priced.
Stopped by this pub to grab a couple of drinks since it’s close to home and they have a huge beautiful patio. We ordered a couple of Stella draft beers - which I must say was fresh and great quality. The vibe, ambiance, and decor is super cute! The service is good too. Cute little European style pub.
A go-to public house that has been around for quite a while, serving the Port Union area with really solid food, atmosphere and beer. What more do you really need? Weather kept us inside, so couldn't partake in patio season, but the bar area worked very well for lunch. Burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips anchor the menu offerings all at great prices. The burger of the week was a lamb burger covering in caramelized onions and feta cheese. Was very good! If I'm in the area I will go back, hopefully to check out the patio.
Had the Roast Beef Yorkie slow roasted roast beef stuffed into Yorkshire pudding topped with beef gravy. Served with mashed potato, gravy & peas, Deep fried calamari and nachos with ground beef. Excellent staff always attentive and friendly. Very nice ambience that reminds you of an English pub. Just the parking lot was small and limited so make sure you carpool.
Beautiful pub with a very welcoming atmosphere. The fish and chips were great. Only negative was the cheese for the nachos wasn’t melted under the top layer.
Food here is good, a little overpriced. The waiters are kind, but it’s a very local place with many locals, so it takes a bit of getting used to if it’s you first time. The fish on the fish and chips was the best thing we ordered.
Quality neighborhood pub with a sizeable menu and nice interior. The patio is definitely great in the summer. Service has always been energetic and positive.
