What a lovely place for kids and family! Just about an hour and half drive from Toronto - this beautiful farm has everything apple! From a giant big Apple to click pictures with to tasty treats. Must try- the Apple cheesecake bar! Also the animal petting farm and the collectibles store here is amazing! Definitely a great weekend visit!
It is always enjoyable going to the Big Apple.  I always buy my favourite mumble crumble apple bread. There is even a recipe for making french toast and pudding out of this bread. I just love the bread, apple pie, apple strudel, apple cider, apple turnover, apple crisp, just about everything. If only this is close to where I live. The price is so reasonable. One can even see how they are baked. Their products are always fresh.
Due to the epidemic, some areas are not open. Their apple pie is still so delicious! Their constant quality will be an important part of the brand's history. Another very unique view of the attraction - when you just drive out of the highway and enter the town, the first thing to greet you is a church cemetery. The area is very large, almost the whole road from the time you entered the town to the big apple attraction, full of cemeteries and tombstones. If the annual Halloween special event is held here every year, amazing@@
We made a stop here on our way from Toronto to Ottawa, and we ended up staying a lot longer than we expected! Initially, we anticipated taking a few photos with the big apple and then hitting the road again, but there is quite a bit to do there! There was mini golf, a petting zoo, and lots to see around the place and in the stores. Our kids loved it, and we ended up spending a couple hours! Obviously, it's touristy including what's sold and the prices, but definitely a fun stop for road trips, especially for young children. The washrooms were clean, and there were also many options for food and drink to eat there or take on the road.
Awesome place to visit, incredible variety, makes you want to buy so many things. Can easily stay 2 to 3 hours. Only reason didn't give 5 stars, the blueberry pie was lacking that sweet punch, it was a bit bland.
Everytime I come here it's always just for the novelty. The only real draw is the brewery and the apple pies. The food you order honestly is being made by kids and it shows. I ordered onion rings and the grilled cheese. The onion rings, were crunchy , I love crunchy. Yet these were cooked so long that even the onion itself inside was hard as a rock. The oil they were cooked it tasted like it hadn't been changed in weeks. The grilled cheese was sooooo oily, as well both items upset my stomach immediately. I won't hate on the place for this because I get it, stress, busy, things happen. But when I go and visit again next month. I'll best hope that the food quality is better. Kid-friendliness: Lots of activities and games for kids. There's a petting zoo on site and mini out. There's also a train ride and a small coaster. Parking: Lots of parking, just beware the potholes and other drivers. They come from the city thinking they have right of way so be careful.
Exit 497 mid-way between Toronto and Ottawa - this stop has EVERYTHING. Always a nostalgic stop with plenty of options to stretch your legs and feed your belly. Their restroom are totally country bumkin themed with plenty of washroom stalls. Along with the delicious apple pies there is a full bakery with loads apple options from cakes, donuts, tarts and loaves. There is a counter-serve diner with decent options and ready-to-go prepped meals as well with a cute country store attached with indoor and heated out-door patio. For the little kids there is a full candy story with fresh fudge, bulk goodies, and candy/caramel apples next to the 401 Cider brewery for the big kids. In season there are other kid rides, mini golf and a beautiful pond for a quick walk.
I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was one of the worst I ever had. On the other hand, my daughters had the grilled cheese, whit apple bread and it was great ! The fries looks good , but not the kind I like, they where too big, and dry inside. I would recommend asking for a bit more golden fries, and don’t thane the pulled pork!
Such a fun place to visit inside and out. There's a petting farm of sorts before you go into the store. Goats are always fun to watch. They even have an area to let your doggo stretch out during your trip. There are activities such as outdoor ping pong, a min train, and other fun amusements. A walking trail nearby with a pond and fountain. At thr back is a super large iconic apple to go into and climb to the top for that super view. Inside the store is so much food, meals, condiments, of course baked goods and candy assortment and nuts and peanuts...the list goes on. The pies are ginormous and delicious as are everything else. There are viewing windows to watch production. There's also giftware. Even the washrooms are a novelty. Be sure and pop in...you won't leave empty handed.
Great visit to The Big Apple - you can't miss the huge apple strucuture driving down the highway. The place was packed with people as it was around lunch hour. This place has a great mix of items for sale such as a large candy selection, maple syrup products, alcoholic cider, fresh made breads, donuts, lunch sandwiches, pesto, fritters, and general merchadise. Great place to stop in, use the washroom, get some food and see some cool animals and huge apple. Great place all around!
