Great pub with really really tasty food. They don’t take reservations for the pub. When we arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening, it was full- we asked to sit in the back dining room and they made room for us happily. Was very cozy and comfortable in there and we got to hear the live music anyway. The service was very very nice and helpful. Our group of five all enjoyed our meals and wine! We will be back when we come back to sandbanks!
The Food was very Delicious The Service by DON was Outstanding 5 star Top self friendly, very polite, & professional He so knows how to Treat meet & greet you from start to finish! Thank you Don for making our lunch experience a delightful one! We will be back soon Cheers !!!
Overall our experience was nice. You could definitely use more vegan options. My wife and I were good, but our adult daughter had very limited choices. Suzie was our server and we came to find out she was an old neighbour that we hadn't seen in more than 15 years. She was great. We will definitely return. Thank you and have a great weekend.
We have been here before a few times and loved it. Always good service and good food. Unfortunately this time was a real disappointment. The waitress took her time checking in with us, at this time there were only 2 other people in the restaruant so the bartender had to take our order. We waited over over 45 min for our 2 burgers to arrive. It turns out the “missing” waitress took the order of a table of 5- that came in after us- and insisted they were here before us, hence taking their order first. Don’t think we will be back too soon.
For supper I ordered the caesar salad and requested chicken with it. For $6 I got 12 sugar-cube sized pieces of processed chicken. Not impressed. Next time I will eat at home before trivia night. Service is good.Food: 2/5
We, a party of 6, arrived at the The Barley Room Pub on Friday, December 30th just past 5pm for dinner .. we were seated and had a short wait for our drink order to be taken. When the waitress came back to take our food order we were told there might not be Chicken Wings, as two people wanted them we asked her to check .. she came back after what felt like forever and advised no chicken wings as they forgot to defrost them. After retaking our order we sat and waited and no one came over, the waitress disappeared .. we finally called over another waitress after waiting over an hour, she advised that she would go find our waitress we also asked her to check to see if our order was even placed and advised we needed drink refills. Another waitress returned and advised our waitress had an emergency and had to leave, we ordered a 2nd round and we asked her to check to see if our order was even placed as we were waiting for well over an hour by now. We received our drink refill quite quickly all except one as they didn't know what cocktail one of the ladies had originally ordered, Well over 20 minutes went by and she came back to advise us that they were out of Batter for the fish .. two of our party ordered fish & chips .. we made the decision after almost 2 hours that we would not put in another order and decided to leave. Turns out the waitress did not have an emergency BUT ran to the store to buy fish batter AND left us at our table with other waitresses whispering and pointing to our table. NO real apology given .. we had to pay for our drinks .. so disappointing .. lack of communication and respect for the customers. Will not be going back.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional! Our server was very friendly and accommodating, making sure that we had the best meal possible. I ordered the Pimm's cocktail, eggplant parmesan sandwich, apple & cheddar soup, and shared a creme brulee which came with one of the best shortbread cookies I've ever had. I would recommend each dish, though the menu has plenty to choose from and I look forward to going back to try more! A fantastic place for a relaxed, tasty, and affordable meal.
Normally we enjoy going to the barley room, but tonight was not good at all. First off, entertainment was great... might have been the only highlight of the night. Service was extremely slow, but in fairness they were busy. However, it took 20 minutes just to place a drink order, then 10 more minutes to get the drinks. We ordered the burger special and fish and chips. Burger was to be cooked medium rare, it was well done and very dry. Next was the fish and chips. Chips were over salted, but edible. Fish was to be double cooked..it wasn't. Then when the order was brought we were informed that there was no tarter sauce. I wasn't offered the option to change my meal before hand since there was no sauce, and then was still charged full price for something I didn't eat. Definitely not worth the price we paid.
