Excellent. The samosas are huge and delicious. I had the vegetarian Thalia and my husband had the non veg. Both were very good. Quality and quantity were excellent. We lived in India so we know authentic Indian food. These flavors are the real thing. Not dumbed down for Americans.
We weren't sure what to expect as this was our first time here. We ordered an appetizer and meals. It was clear that everything was made from scratch and authentic. The flavors were fabulous and the portions generous. We will definitely make Thali a regular dining experience. Vegetarian options: A ton of vegan and vegetarian option.
Anyone who says this place has a nice ambience doesnt know what Indian hospitality is and probably also rates Mc D high on aesthetics! The ambience is mediocre at best, the food is very ordinary. We ordered papdi chaat and samosa chat and the flavor was highly placed towards tangy. The thali was okay. Their website mentions buffet which is false. They do not offer buffet. Also please dont have flies hovering around for our food. Some cleanliness to that effect would be good. Overall good for locals who do not have much clue about Indian palate or cuisine and consider anything with curry as 'Indian' food.
First thing comes out is thanks, when you get Indian food so far away from India. Price was on little higher side . Taste was okay we have 2 paneer dishes, samosas, bread bucket and mango lassi. Good seating tables available. Lot of people come around for eating. Menu does not have South Indian dishes like dosa and all. Staff really nice good luck thanks
Don’t go by the looks of the place from outside. One of the unhygienic and dirty place to have your food. The floor carpet, the dishes, table/chairs, restroom and can image kitchen after seeing. The presentation of the food server was also bad. Regarding the food - the samosa were frozen and just heated to make it appear not freshly baked. They don’t know what is masala papad I asked before placing order but for them it is cummins/mari is masala. The main course was average no where near true north Indian curry and the roti and naan were pretty much same. Overall I will not recommend this place.
Very delicious food and not very expensive. We stopped here for dinner while going to long drive to Toronto, felt like home light food and not burning spices hurting your stomach. Overall wonderful experience. Great place to go!
Food was great. I’ve never had authentic Indian food before so this was a first. I was enjoying every bit of it. If you are looking for something that’s “new and adventurous” I would not hesitate going. It was well worth it. The Crab Mumbai appetizer was stellar. I wish I could have made that the entire meal! For main dish I had the Seafood Makhani. It was a semi sweet tomato purée based food. So delicious. I see a lot of complaints about the atmosphere. As a former business owner of 10+ years on Market Street. I can tell you it is not cheap to own or rent compared to other locations. Businesses have to make do with locations that were built 100+ years ago. Sometimes it’s a struggle. So while it may not be 5 star ambiance, it has its charm for what it is.
I have never had Indian food before because I always thought Indian and spicy were synonymous. The food was delicious and they gave us the choice of how spicy we wanted it - which was great for my weak taste buds! My children who like spicy were equally as impressed with their food. Potions were quite large and we had a lot of food left over. Will definitely go again when I am in Corning! Vegetarian options: There were many, varied vegetarian items with the option for vegan as well. Parking: Parking on Market street was available.
We stopped here after a visit to the glass museum. The food was delicious and service was quick! I definitely recommend this to anyone. If you haven’t tried Indian food, TRY IT HERE!!! You will love it!
We didn't expect much when we walked into the restaurant based on appearance and menu. We ended up having a great experience and will definitely go back the next time we visit Corning. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but the food is absolutely phenomenal. We ordered 3 different meals and each one was better than the next. Highly recommend stopping in!
