I ordered a Pad Kra Pao with beef and the included picture is what I received. When I asked for the dish, the woman up front asked me what protein I wanted. This included a shrimp option, which I thought was odd in this context, since it's typically a dish with ground protein and shrimp would be unusual. I opted for beef since it's the typical ground protein we have access to here. What I got was a beef stir fry / boil with more vegetables than meat when it is supposed to be a ground meat forward dish. I'm not even sure what to call it, it doesn't resemble any Pad Kra Pao I've ever had. The 'pad' in Thai implies 'fried' and I don't think anything here was actually fried.. except maybe the chef? I threw my entire lunch away and wasted 15 dollars. Don't waste your money here either.
Thai on the fly is just delicious! Authentic Thai food made by a Thai chef and made fresh to order! They do delivery as well as order ahead for pick up. Chris is super friendly and charming as well at the front desk. The portion sizes definitely generous, I'll probably be eating my khao pad chicken for the next 2 days! That being said I don't eat a lot...
Second time ordering from them this week. Tastes AMAZING but extremely greasy both times. Lots of oil used for basil fried rice, noodles. I am okay with oil but this is wayyyyy too much! I ate top portion of basil fried rice and threw out the oil settled bottom. That’s more than half the food. Again food is tasty but it would be nice if oil is reduced. Pictures don’t do full justice
Last month we ordered pad thai and drunken noodles, both arrived swimming in liquid and oil as though they were a soup. Last night we ordered two stir frys and these also arrived filled to the brim with liquid and oil. Absolutely ridiculous..stir fry and noodle dishes should be mostly dry with no water swimming in the bottom. I wish the owner would address why the food is so watery and fix it. Basic cooking techniques are lacking in the kitchen. We won’t order from here again.
We ordered takeout from Thai on the Fly out of curiosity. Normally we have to go to Thai Jasmine on route 110 in Chelmsford for Thai food, so we were excited a Thai restaurant was opening 5 minutes driving from where we live. We ordered two lunch specials, with our side choice of dumplings. The ordering process online isn't difficult, but for some reason currently doesn't work with Firefox. After figuring that out, we switched to Google Chrome and the order was processed without a problem. Additional issues with the online ordering: I wasn't prompted to choose whether I wanted steamed or fried dumplings. I remember I looked for the steamed option because I don't love deep fried dumplings, but I gave up. We ordered two entrees: Pad Khing and Pad Thai. I really didn't like the vegetable mixture in the Pad Khing and probably wont order it again. It directly reminded me of canned stir fry vegetables available at the supermarket baby corn, onion, bean sprouts, *soggy*. I think this dish could benefit from more meat and a smaller selection of vegetables. There are also some small pieces of ginger in the sauce, which my mom didn't love, but I like ginger sauces like that. The pad thai was very average for me. I like a little more flavor than what this one had. I realized on day 2 when reheating leftovers that there was also quite a lot of oil used in making this pad thai because it kind of congealed together in the fridge. I might suggest not making it so oily. Overall, I'd say try this place. Ordering online will hopefully be improved soon, but for now use Google Chrome and it's easy. It gives you a wait time and the food was ready when we got there. Quantity of food is good, prices are good, and diversity of menu choices is also decent. I'll probably try some other dishes in the future and see how I feel then.
I wish I could buy a bottle of the sauce they use for the Pad Med Ma Muang and just drink it lol. I was very impressed by my experience there. I got take out. The restaurant was well decorated and looked cool. The service was friendly and fast. Will def go again. They don't have a dining area but they deliver.
Hmmm...I want to like this place. The workers are nice and the food came out fast. Unfortunately the noodles were just made wrong. We picked two easy Thai dishes...Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao. Both came out with so mush liquid they were unenjoyable. These dishes should not be so runny that you have to hold your fork for 30 seconds to let them drain. The extra liquid tamps the flavor and ruins the dish. The meal was also way over sweet. The Pad Kee Mao should have a sweet/spicy/sour balance but this is just overpoweringly sweet. As far as spice, they just dumped red pepper flakes on top. Not the finest moment in Thai cooking for sure.
Ordered Pad Kee Mao take out and was extremely disappointed. The food was incredibly bland, almost no flavor at all -- and I selected Spice Level 4. A total waste of money. I ordered six months ago and the same thing happened. I thought I’d give the restaurant another try, but got the same result. It’s clear ownership doesn’t care about quality or attention to detail.
Very expensive for what it is. The dishes were pracrically a soup, with half of the container filled with fluid. It’s not a restourant, just a ghost kitchen for take out. It should not cost $16 a container. No sitting area.Food: 2/5
This place used to be one of the best Thai restaurants around with incredibly authentic and super spicy food. What the hell happened? We just had one of the worst Thai meals I have ever had. The Pahd Thai was a massive glump of flaccid flavorless noodles with only 3 shrimp that were hard as bullets and totally tastes. The fresh spring rolls were disgusting. No flavor. Just a pile of shredded lettuce in a wrap that had the texture of a wet paper towel. And the chicken in the red curry was so over cooked it was likely chewing on wet cardboard. Such a disappointment especially since it used to be one of my favorite restaurants. We paid $60 for a meal we ended up throwing away because it was so bad.
