Nice server and street-level waterfront views. Interior needs an update, and the space is very small. Food was presented nicely and veggies were crisp, but not generous servings, sauces seemed diluted, and flavors were unremarkable. It was ok for a relatively inexpensive and quick meal, but don’t expect fine dining.
I ordered dessert from here for pickup at 7:45pm and stupidly set my alarm to leave for that exact time we are 15 min away. They close at 8:00pm so I called to say I would be there a little after 8 and checked that they could still accommodate my order. They were SO nice and allowed me to come late to grab my food - the most delicious salad rolls + sticky rice + mango + coconut ice cream. Everything was great. I also previewed their new specials menu and everything looks delicious!!! The restaurant is adorable and I will absolutely be coming back.
I recently moved back from out of state and I wanted some Thai food, i absolutely loved Thai Charlie’s in high school and when I lived close by easily used to be one of my top 3 picks in the area so I went ahead and ordered! I was really excited because my fiancé had never had it. We got chicken pad Thai, crab Rangoon, spring rolls and pork fried rice. We ordered take out and showed up about 30-35 minutes later to pick it up. We ate, everything was absolutely amazing nothing tasted off or bad or anything like that until unfortunately the next day when I woke up with food poisoning. I hadn’t eaten anything else, so it had to have been the Thai food I was incredibly disappointed because I’ve always had such amazing experiences there. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the staff is always so kind. This is not so much as to bash them just more to inform the restaurant!
First time ordering from Thai Charlie’s on 12/16. We were looking for a new go-to Thai place; the decision was between a few locations but the great reviews and photos of the food looked promising. The prices were more than most Thai places in the area but we figured the quality must be better so we justified the $80 order $53.90 + taxes, fees, delivery & tip through DoorDash at 7:16pm. A little over an hour after placing the order, it was delivered, 8:28pm. We were hungry and ready to be delighted. We ordered Tofu Pad Thai, Yellow Curry and Crab Rangoon. My friend opened his sticky white rice and was surprised to find it in plastic wrap. We figured “ok, most restaurants don’t do this for their rice but maybe they do this for to-go orders.” Upon unwrapping it, the rice was blue/gray… we thought mold but wanted to double check. We googled it and blue/gray rice is advised as mold & bacteria! We were completely appalled! I went to call the restaurant which was closed. We messaged DoorDash right away and while going through the chat process, began cooking rice from home so my friend could still eat his dinner. He took a few bites of the Curry in the meantime and the potatoes were undercooked. I opened my Pad Thai to find it was cold; the noodles were fine at the top but gelatinous at the bottom. I sent photos in the DoorDash App which I didn’t realize wouldn’t save to my phone. The DoorDash agent refunded the Curry and gave a $10 DoorDash credit - woeful attempt at a resolution. The restaurant responded to this review stating the blue/gray color was butterfly pea flower, which they state is on their menu, however it was not on the online menu via the delivery service, which undoubtably contributed to this this debacle. This was our experience and we appreciate the restaurant clarifying points in their response.
First timer. Bought the Golden Prawn dish and Lemon Wings. The Golden Prawns are supposed to come w broccoli, asparagus and carrots w deep fried prawns. Prawns were soaking wet from veggie water and no asparagus at all. No warning that they were out. Wings are great, expensive for 4 wings. Won't be back.
We have been coming here for 8+ years but the last few times the quality has gone down, mostly last year or so. Not sure if it is new owners or a new chief. Like another recent reviewer, the massaman curry was watered down, potatoes are small, and no flavor. This used to be our favorite place within Kitsap, Mason, Thurston and Pierce county and would tell everyone to try it. Since we have been coming here for so long we will try it again in hopes that it was just a fluke the last couple times but I post this in case they did make changes so that they can maybe make adjustments.
Just ok. Green beans in the papaya salad were obviously previously frozen and falling apart. The broth of the Tom Kha soup was good but not very much in there and the mushrooms were the cheap white button mushrooms and only a few… and the onion was sweet white onion… just strange. Definitely will try the other Thai restaurants in the area next time.

Looking for the best Thai cuisine in Port Orchard? Look no further, Thai Charlie's excels in quality, presentation, and simply good eats. While it's easy to gain a favorite after multiple visits, one is pleasantly surprised when stepping outside the comfort zone. Not once have I departed and noticed an aftertaste. The Garlic Prawns are my new favorite, yet there's always room for those delicious Golden Fried Wings, #3 on the spice level. Lastly the owners are simply good people, a smile is always present. When customer load warrants, they'll come out for a chat. Definitely worth a stop in, you want be disappointed.
