The Food is Spectacular, but the Service Needs CoachingnnWe had dinner at Terroni Summerhill two days ago. The menu offers a wonderful variety, and the kitchen absolutely knocks it out of the park. The atmosphere is relaxing for a casual or more formal dinner.nThe Food: 5/5nCestino di Pane: Fresh, chewy sourdough bread that paired perfectly with the olive oil dip.Calamari alla Griglia: Amazing and incredibly tender with just the right amount of char. The accompanying mixed greens and caper salad was light and refreshing.Funghi Assoluti: Meaty baked oyster mushrooms balanced beautifully by a bright arugula salad and balsamic dressing.Tonnarelli alla Norcina: A robust, deeply flavourful main. The house-made spicy sausage and black truffle shavings were excellent, and the noodles were perfectly al dente.Dessert: Finished on a high note with a rich flourless chocolate cake and a well-made Americano.nThe Service: 3/5nWhile the food was flawless, our waitress was quite disorganized. She brought out our side plates but forgot cutlery, forcing us to request utensils. Bizarrely, she brought all of our appetizers and mains out simultaneously before we had even received our initial cocktails. We had to ask her to take the mains back. Unfortunately, when the pasta was re-served later, the plate was cold and the dish was merely warm instead of piping hot.nVerdict:nThe waitstaff definitely needs better training and coaching on pacing. However, the meal itself was great that it won’t deter us from returning. Worth a visit for well made Itialian cuisine!
Terroni.. where do I start? I've been dinig here for over 10 years, and it's one of the few places in Toronto that has remained consistently excellent throughout that time. In a city where restaurants often change, raise prices significantly, or see their quality fluctuate, Terroni has continued to deliver outstanding food, great service, and exceptional value year after year.nnWhat keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's a casual dinner or a special occasion, I know exactly what to expect: fresh ingredients, generous portions, and authentic Italian flavors. It's become my go-to Italian restaurant in Toronto and a place I confidently recommend to friends and family.nnThe menu is packed with great options, but the funghi assoluti and tonnarelli norcina is a must and are always a standout, offering rich unique flavours that showcase the kitchen's attention to detail. Pick any pizza they are all excellent, with perfectly crisp crusts and high-quality toppings, while the pasta dishes are comforting, and cooked exactly as they should be. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.nnAfter more than a decade of visits, I can say that Terroni has earned my loyalty through consistently great food, warm hospitality, and excellent value. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable, authentic Italian cuisine.nnWell done!
The patio is beautiful, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. The service wasn’t great, and the drinks were completely ordinary. Food-wise, the only dish that tasted good was the ravioli, neither the seafood pasta nor the pizza had much flavor, and both fell totally flat. Definitely not worth it.
The place itself it’s very amazing specially the rooftop it was sunny and nice but the food was really below the average nothing special there. It was so plain I had to ask them for black pepper and salt because the pasta was literally without any taste. I ordered the gnocchi.
I went on Sunday long weekend last week and it was jam packed and fun! I feel their pizza is best in Toronto! Huge portions, and so delicious check my photos . I highly recommend this restaurant!
