Really Great spot!! The atmosphere is really chill,decor is different & colorful. Went on a Sunday afternoon, got seated right away. Our server was really nice & took the time to explain the dishes since it was our first time there. Food was delicious!! Worth every penny. Honestly would have gotten 5 stars if my drink was a little stronger. With Tequila in the name,I expected a heavy pour but still worth it & TOTALLY going back!!!
Amazing prices and atmosphere, very fast service, good food. The menu is very diverse and includes Mexican and Tex-mix classics The restaurant is very and you can see the kitchen when going to the restroom which was very clean as well. The food itself is a solid 7/10 as I am judging based on living in Texas for a couple of years. But i will definitely come back again Looking forward to trying new menu items next time Features: The place was very clean.
I've been curious about this place every since I've seen it. Someone mentioned to me also that the place would be a good pick. My grandparents, my son and I were treated very well. I will return cause it's about the customer service for me, as well as the foody food. The platters were huge and doggy bags were needed. Treat yourself, your family and friends and go. They won't disappoint Kid-friendliness: My 10yr old son seemed very comfy and satisfied. He checked the menu and ordered steak tacos like a pro. His response was "ma, that food was bussing"
I took my son who is a student at Charlotte to lunch at Tequilas Tacos and Bar on a Saturday afternoon. The place has a cool vibe and the service was great. The chips were some of the best I have had at a Mexican restaurant, and the salsa was just the right amount of spice. My son ordered the Texas Rice. It is a hug portion of a bed of rice with steak, chicken and shrimp. He loved it and ate it all. I asked our server to recommend something to me that she loves. I had the Chilaquiles with steak, which were so tasty. I will definitely come back here and recommend this place.
Angel was a good server. The atmosphere was fresh and festive. Everything was clean, the tables wasn't even sticky. The chips was freshly made they was still warm to the touch. Second time here since I have been in Charlotte and still not let down! The premix margarita's are not watered down and very delicious. The staff are friendly and even sitting at the bar in a single seat I am not forgotten about the bartender Kevin was excellent and checked on a meal I purchased before sitting at the bar. A highly recommend place to stop at for anyone especially travelers! Thank you for wonderful service!
Busy sports bar. We sat in the bar area and I can say thr decor is vibrant. Our server was very sweet and got our drinks promptly. Tea and shots - 4 diff. Flavs of margaritas and it was worth the 8$. Highly suggest that. For apps we ordered spinach dip which is melted cheese and they added spinach to it - tasted good. For dinner he ordered steak with rice and beans which he is still talking about how good it was and I ordered flaula - 4 friend tequetos which were really good. Overall a good time but I walked out with a headache. Logistic issue - if you do get seated by the window, the setting sun is bound to hit you . Their windows are nice and big but no shade to pull down to avoid this. I just wish there was some sorta sun block.
This was a great spot for Mexican Food for the price. I had the Cazuelon which came with steak, chicken and chorizo with cheese and vegetables. For the price it's a great deal, and the food itself was spot on. Staff was nice but I wish they came around more to fill up our chips and water more often. Good Mexican restaurant in the University area!
My visit to Taquilas to have dinner with a friend tonight was fantastic! Plenty of seating and no wait for a table on a Tuesday evening. The waitress was fun and attentive. The food was flavorful and delicious with great portions. The chips were warm and fresh. I love the decor and asked the waitress about it and she shared that the lights and sconces were from Mexico. Try this place up near UNCC, it won’t disappoint!
I really enjoyed my time there. I went on a Saturday and one of the drink specials was $2.99 house tequila shots and $6.99 frozen margaritas. I had the sizzling steak and chicken fajita for two, which was so much food! The service and management was great, and that personally is very important. The restaurant is also beautiful I will be back.
