Best Mexican food restaurant in the immediate Ottumwa area. HONESTLY every meal is delicious . From the chili relleno to the molcajete beef Chicken meal . I can’t pic a favorite. Anything with carne asada or steak is so good. Also the customer service is great. The servers are funny and fast. They get the job done and if they make a mistake they make up for it. I really enjoyed the food and the price was right. All the meals have guacamole and quality Mexican food you can trust. MUST TRY. Delicious authentic Mexican food restaurant.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Their peach Margarita was perfect! Giovanny our server was very nice and super attentive. My husband and I split Nachos and Fajitas! Everything was perfect! My only complaint is that the sat us at a table by the kitchen/bar, so I was loud and busy. And also there is a door that leads down to the basement and when they leave it open there is a sewer smell. But Everything else was Awesome!!! We will be back!!
Great place to eat. Price to food ratio is a great value. Menu is huge and usually that leads to a lot of lower quality items. That is not the case here. Great flavor and everyone in your party should be able to find something to eat. Recommend giving the Super Burrito a try, it’s huge. If you’re here visiting in Ottumwa great place for any Mexican item.
Five stars for the FOOD! It is really delicious. Best mex in the region. I always try to time lunch there with my frequent trips to Menards. The salsa is memorable.

Today was my first trip to Tequila Grill in Ottumwa, Iowa. I went for lunch with my daughter in law, Sierra. She had been there before and wanted me to try it. I don't get to the big city very often, I prefer small towns. I will definitely be making another trip sometime soon to have lunch here again, even though I am an hour away. We were met at the door by a clean, well groomed, smiling waiter. I felt immediately welcome. He brought chips and salsa with menus right away. The only thing I could recommend is that they need some new menus, they have been very well seasoned by their many customers. We ordered a burrito and fajitas . Within 10 minutes of ordering we had hot food in front of us. Food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing, even at prime lunch hour. I must say, I have not seen a waiter like this for a long time. All my needs were met and questions about the menu were answered . I liked the openness of the restaurant and the casual furnishings. Prices on the menu were very reasonable, so that everyone could afford a nice meal. I also enjoyed the Mexican music piped in. This would be a great place to hang out. I would mark it , as one of my favorites.
It was a great dinner date place. The shrimp cocktail was delish and the Cadillac margarita was wonderful!Food: 5/5
Started with cold Dos Equis and chorizo con queso. Progressed to a custom made fajita plate I called, named and dubbed “the chonita” off menu south Texas style. fajitas, shrimp, bell pepper, onion, tomato, bacon, mushrooms, queso blanco on top on a steaming hot plate! service was great! Did not expect this out if Iowa. I was surprised and satisfied! Thank you!! Ps make home made flour tortillas damnit!! If someone is standing around they could be rolling out a tortilla! :
Absolutely fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant. Was just passing through from Des Moines to St Louis and stopped in for dinner. Could not have been happier with the food and attentive service. Texas fajitas were delicious and the portions were massive.Food: 5/5
