Family owned and operated. Amazing steak and fish dishes. Our favorite is their flat iron steak. You cannot go wrong with that, unless you're a vegetarian... But even then it can make any vegetarian come back home. Diverse beer menu including plenty of craft beer of different types. Friendly service. Great for groups. One of my favorite places in Iowa overall and my #1 favorite for atmosphere and view. Love it!

Location was great, barn looked awesome. Service was very slow. It took 53 minutes to bring out food. Drinks were good, but getting a refill was like twisting an arm. My kids food was burnt. My barn buster was very good. I may give them another chance in the future.

The barn itself is really nice. We got there around 6 pm. The place wasn't busy, we were then seated. The waitress asked what we wanted to drink, and in a reasonable time the drinks came. It was a good 20 minutes before we saw her again. We ordered an appetizer and that took 15 minutes. Then after we were there for one hour, we finally was asked if we were ready to order. After we ordered, It took 45 minutes before we were told by the waitress our food was just being made. 30 minutes later the food finally showed up. All this time the tables around us that ordered after us were served. We should of been given something if not all of our meals free. Not even an apology or a reason why this happened. Will I go back? Probably not.

Unfortunate....and sadly unbelievable! Was visiting from North Carolina and looking forward to trying this restaurant. Drive over an hour to get here while visiting Stone City. Only one waitress in the entire restaurant who did her best to serve all patrons. Our reservations for 10 was at opening time. After our arrival there were perhaps 4 other small groups (2-4 people) that came in within 15 minutes or so. While we were the first to arrive, we were the very last to get our food after a nearly 2 hour wait. In fact, all other groups had finished eating before the server even brought our food to the table. Food was so, so at best. My wife's chicken was supposed to have had some type of topping...it didn't. My sirloin was warm at best. Not one time did the waitress come back to see if everything was all right, let alone offer to refill the pitchers of water at our table even though the ice had melted by the time our food came. Never again. Next time will eat at the winery bistro in Anamosa instead. This is a MANAGEMENT problem, not an employee problem!

At 6:30 on Saturday night, we stopped in with no reservation, were seated immediately. Our hosts and server were excellent and very friendly. The fried cod was cooked to perfection and the Greek vegetables were amazing!
