Amazing experience, the restaurant is lovely decorated with a very rustic environment, plus it has a beautiful view next to the Chateauguay River. The food was something I did not expect, really tasty, with fresh and local produce, very flavoury. We asked for several changes and they perfectly accommodated all our dishes to our requests. We tried a drink that we got recommended which was very fresh and savory. The service is also a 5 star, really the best we have had in long time. Kudos to all the staff. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options Parking: Free parking surrounding the restaurant Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free, lactose-free
A blessing in a culinary void. There are okay restaurants in the area but Taverne really stads out to me as the best place to treat your taste buds. A solid meal, well plated, and with a diverse choice of taste palettes. Great principles and sides. Very diverse drink menu, highlighting local talents. Convenient location, great parking, great food! Not to be missed when you are in the area. There is one other bonus: the view! When you're sitting by the window you have the view of the Chateauguay river flowing by. Usually festooned with wildlife.
The food was absolutely delicious. It rivals some of the best restaurants you'd find in Montreal. The menu isn't extensive, but it has originality and flavours to boost. One of the best restaurants I've been to. Highly recommend the coffee rubbed pork chop and the crème brulé
Super yummy food here. It’s a bit of a diamond in the ruff. I was pleasantly surprised to find great vegetarian options on the menu and amazing service to be had. The menu isn’t extensive which is okay. It’s nice that everything is so fresh. Also, they really know their gin’s and serve it with the best tonic out there, fever tree. Really great place to go. ** we were two f/f couples and had no issue whatsoever so I would definitely rate this a very LGBTQ positive location**
The food all comes from local farms, so it's fresh. The atmosphere was great, Dim lighting and live country/blues music when we were there. Although the drink menus were in French, between us and the bartender, we were able to figure it out enough to order. The food was delicious and the drinks were good as well. My only complaint would be the price... It was almost $10 for three small Mac an cheese balls. Other than that, no complaints!
We went for my Daughter’s 40th! All the food, starters right through to dessert were wonderful for the palate!! I highly recommend the Taverne de de la Ferme!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of options on the menu!! Kid-friendliness: The kids had a ball and ate very well!!!! Parking: Lots of parking!! Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to animal protein, I managed to eat very well with the choices on the menu!!
We couldn’t understand our waitress. Her English explanation of the menu was limited. So that was kind of awkward for both her and us. She did not try to keep her distance w/COVID making us a bit uncomfortable. The couple who came in after us received their meal before we did. We ordered sweet potato fries to start which were light and crispy served with a tasty dip. I ordered pasta of the day which was shrimp and local organic veggies with cream sauce. Unfortunately, it was quite bland. I asked for salt and pepper which came only in time for my last bite. My husband ordered the vegan General Tao which was wonderful - well cooked, full of flavour and lots of veggies. The food portions were small and a glass of wine was very small - Less then half of a small wine glass for 12.00! The ambiance is relaxed and friendly. The location on the riverside is beautiful. It seems to be a popular spot. There’s an outdoor terrace - but it shares space with the parking lot. Overall, I expected better value for the price.
This is the second or third iteration of this restaurant in the past five or six years...and this one is excellent. It is not often that you can find fine dining out in the country but this is. A friend and I had patio reservations for dinner on a Friday evening a month ago. The restaurant was crowded and we were worried about the service. all for naught. We were seated relatively quickly, and service provided immediately. The menu here has never been large, but is original and often unique. My friend had the trout tartar never heard of it anywhere else and claimed it was delicious. I had their fish and chips and it too was perfectly prepared and delicious. The restaurant was well staffed, the service was attentive, friendly and unhurried. Their parking lot can be crammed when they are busy, such as a Friday night, but it is not a game stopper. An enjoyable experience and we will be back.
Walked in off the street with absolutely no reservations. The Gentleman behind the counter who greeted us almost chocked but looked at the seating chart and promptly said," If you don't mind the bar, I could place you and your wife there". We accepted the offer. We were greeted by a beautiful outspoken bartender. Her smile was infectious and no matter how busy she was never once did she lose her smile or her interest in my wife and I. She asked us where we were from and if we were there for the fair. Again...this kind of greeting in a bar/tavern/restaurant is not something I'm used to. We ordered food as well as drinks. The food is beyond good....there were so many different flavors in my Tavern Burger. The fish and chips were lightly battered and absolutely scrumptious. On a scale of 1 to 10, I am not exaggerating when I say it's an 11. From walking in without reservations and being in a jammed packed place the service was excellent and the food....well it was to die for. We are definitely taking a drive out there again soon... Thank you for a pleasant experience Mike and Dayna from St Constant
Excellent food. Great local beer on tap. Outstanding desserts. Excellent service. Well worth the one hour drive to have lunch with a great friend pictured. Parking: Parking entrance is to the left of the restaurant with space for about 20 cars.
