Cocktails under blooming crabapple trees at the Tavern At The Gallery. The ground was covered in pink petals, the air was fragrant, the atmosphere was buzzing, the sun was shining and the birds were signing. Such an enchanted setting . Cocktails were acceptable and refreshing, pizzas were well presented and tasty. Although the tavern was buzzing with patrons, service was friendly and efficient. Overall great experience!
Hidden gem in Ottawa . What a beautiful and cozy place . I feel like not many people know about this place and is great as you usually don’t need a reservation and can just walk in a busy weekend day . Staff has been amazing , this is my second time here and everyone is so friendly and so chill . They offer live music some of the days and is just a very nice environment. Drinks and food I find it to be a bit overpriced but I guess is worth the experience and the calmness of the place . I do not recommend getting the charcuterie board at all, it is very overpriced for what you get it was actually sad when we got it , but the pizza was amazing . Great for friends , family and date night . Overall a beautiful place that is a must visit in Ottawa .
This was fun, would come back for the ambiance. Different types of seating/tables allow for different experiences depending on your company/occasion. Had a beer and a small charcuterie board. Everyone here was friendly, though, it would have been helpful if the hostess mentioned that the food/drink menu is accessible by scanning the QR code on the table. The wasps were a damper though and one dramatically ended it all in my beer.
My first time to the Tavern at the Gallery was on a busy Saturday in August. I had the rose sangria and the duck and apricot pizza. The rose sangria was sweet and large. A little expensive but worth it. The pizza was amazing. The crust is home made, the duck was cooked to perfection and the apricot added a sweet note to create an delicious combination. The patio is large and open. The restaurant is dog friendly. The food came quickly and cooked well. Possibly my new favorite place in ottawa.
Hidden gem! Kind of hard to find but keep walking down Sussex pass the spider and pass the gallery. You’ll probably start to hear some live music… keep going straight until there’s a little entrance pathway on your left! Lots of seating and you can make reservations online! Standard selection of drinks and snacks. Did I mention live music? Great ambiance at night with the string lights too!
Great replacement for Tavern on the Hill this summer - not as great views but still cute. Good service. Pizza is excellent - we grabbed the duck pesto.
Celebrating a Uni Grad night with daughter & friends at TATG that she booked in advance with the restaurant manager. TATG is a lovely setting for a warm early summer's evening party with great seating spaces that created a cosy environment and a fun vibe under the gazebos and hanging lanterns. There were lots of seating options available in the casual setting. The space set aside for our group was arranged much like a cocktail party setup for seating/standing and mixing. It was much like sitting on the neighbour's nicely decorated back deck/patio experience except there was a DJ. Our server, Jason, did a great job looking after our group bringing water first and then drink orders as people slowly filtered into the party. Food was good. My first try at Steak Tartare was successful although I felt it could have used just a bit of S&P in the blend and would have loved an extra swipe of the spicy side dip to see the tartare through. Baguette toasts were a bit chewy, but washed down with a nice Ripasso all was well. Shared my tartare with hubby and he shared his Fingerling & Bacon pizza with me. The pizzas were a huge hit with the group who also sampled the Margherita, a Pear & Brie and a Mushroom Medley. Everyone raved about the pizza crust. Despite a light crowd for a Friday evening the DJ caught our attention and we were getting that let's dance feeling with his great blend of music. We literally closed the place we so lost track of time as we enjoyed the party, the ambiance and an evening under the stars. Hope for a return trip soon!
Great patio and ambiance, would have been better if we had a working heater. Food was good, especially the potaoto and bacon pizza and Tuna bowl.
I hesitated between 3 and 4 stars. Live music jazz that night was fantastic. Food selection quality and taste was ok=average. I ate a brie and pear pizza which lacked taste and my friend had a chicken salad; the spinach was not fresh. Decent night altogether, because of the music.
Patio is great, service was good, but the Margherita pizza was bad. It was just a cheese pizza with some extra marinara dumped on top. Crust was dry and not especially flavourful. Disappointing overall.
