Tavern 1883

Menu is interesting enough, but service is not competitive with other pubs in the area. Last time I visited, the screens were all tuned in to hockey, but I was more interested in baseball and basketball. They refused to tune one screen to another sport for me. I walked over to another pub nearby and didn't even have to ask, there was a different sport on each screen, and the owner gave me the remote if I wanted to switch the screen in front of me. And their food is good, too. Food is one thing, service another, and there are enough pubs in town that I likely won't bother visiting Tavern again.

Not the best kitchen service. Had to wait an hour for fish and chips and macaroni. Then they shorted us on the macaroni. Come on guys it was macaroni. It barely filled the little belly of my friend from Ont. They comped us a round of drinks, which was nice. But come on kitchen don't skip the order of dishes. People will notice especially hangry people. Is this place under new management? We enjoyed what was served to us anyway.

The service was great here! I definitely recommend getting the Duck Nuts as an appetizer - so tasty! Definitely helped cure the hangover - lots of greasy, salty, delicious food options. There were also fun activities every day like trivia night. Great place!

I just found out about this hidden gem and went for lunch a few weeks ago. Such a great place! Amazing food, friendly staff, and great service. Looking forward to returning to see some live music. What would be great to see; is if the Tavern would jump on the bandwagon and consider ditching straws????

Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to Kickinghorse for the weekend. The food was insanely good, the staff was great and I'll definitely be going back if I find myself going through Golden again. Totally worth stopping in on your way through town.
