If you are looking for over priced corporate glitz and pre-fab food like other places that are starting to dominate Metrotown then this is not the place for you. Just a little hole in the wall on Kingsway with a shabby store front and unassuming interior serving delicious food. My wife and I had the House Special Fried Seafood Noodles, Sea Bass Dumplings, Scallop dumplings, Stir Fried Green Beans, and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce. Our server was very friendly and tried to convince us that we were ordering too much for the two of us but we always enjoy left overs and continued with our order. The portions were very generous and everything was cooked to perfection, well spiced and flavorful. We stuffed ourselves and had plenty to take home. The cost under $100 with a well deserved tip with a single beer was extremely reasonable for the quality, portion sizes, and fantastic flavors. My wife had leftovers for lunch the next day and then we both ate the remainder for dinner that evening. My wife and I agree that this is our favorite restaurant in the area so far and we are eager to go back to explore the remainder of their menu further. Definitely a must to visit.
Best place in the city to get authentic dumplings and pot stickers. Highly recommend their Sichuan boiled fish and stir-fried string beans as well. Flavourful with the perfect amount of spice.
One of the best places to get pot stickers. My sis & I got the pork w Bok Choy pot stickers and they were very juicy, filling and very veryyy crispy. We also got the fish boiled in chilli oil + stir fried pork intestine and it was . We were still a little bit hungry so we got another round of pot stickers but this time w shrimp . Both were very good... Now based on this you guys can guess what was our fav dish . Also the aunty was very attentive and very nice person. She asked us if we liked our dishes, we told her yesss and she said it to the kitchen staff. FYI , we went back another day and she recognized us & they were very nice since they accepted us even though they already made their last call 8:45pm. And we got different food to try + pot sticker. And the chef came to our table and asked abt how was the food.
A great gem in town! Food is superb and the taste is very authentic. Home-made style dumplings are not salty which makes me feel very comfy when I finished off my meal. Highly recommend this place and you should never miss this gem!
I was recommended to try this restaurant by my friends. Their dumpling and scallop pot stickers are really good! Spicy pot is also a good choice. The price is affordable, and their services is very cordial. 5
I was just here. Grabbed a quick lunch take out. A nice thick noodle with shredded chicken. It was very good and not salty. Hot and delicious. Portion was very good too. Price was just $12 and it only took 5 mins to get my order cooked. SERVICE SPEED: 5 CLEANLINESS: 5 PRICE: 5 PORTION: 5 OPEN FOR TAKEOUT AND FOOD DELIVERY APPS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Appears to be family run by couple. Will be back again probably next week. The only thing I would recommend the owner do is to include a business card or menu to the take out bag as I had to log into my credit card to see what this place was called once I saw how delicious the food was. I wanted to recommend this place but I had no idea what this restaurant was called.
We had the pork shrimp pot sticker set and the pork shrimp chive wontons. Food was tasty and service was great! The lady who sat us was very friendly and welcoming. I overhead the kitchen staff checking if we and some other customers liked the food. They really care! I'll definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
tasty potstickers and the hot spicy pot was seasoned perfectly! portions were plenty and the lady who runs the restaurant is super sweet! definitely coming back to try more of their menu
4 star dumplings and the pot stickers are excellent 5 star but too expensive. I'm giving it a lower rating as the main dish diced chicken with chili and peanut I had wasn't up to par, the portion was large but no rice. Disappointed when it's take out and one has none at home. Should of been asked or offered it. The dish itself started out tasty, it had a lot of hot peppers but it wasn't overly spicy hot, yet my mouth went numb it felt very strange like a buzzing sensation. It was highly irregular I was scared something was wrong, the thought of anthrax did cross my mind lol. kiddingish The chicken was good quality and cooked well and tender. The problem is there wasn't anything else that would normally be in this dish. It should have green and red peppers as well as green and white oinions. The chilies were in abundance but not particularly hot and the peanuts had skin and were large and whole which is the first I've seen in this style dish usually one feeds these to the birds they were over powering. I have to say I'm not sure if I will even finish the other half, personal preference or just not correctly made. You be the judge I suspect it's the latter. Much need for improvement here. PS I tossed the leftovers deemed inedible. So I hope they change their pepper supplier and wash them well. My toung still buzzes with chemical fertilizer aftertaste as I recollect and edit this review a month later.
Nothing tasty came out of this kitchen. Service was okay, but doesn't really matter when food is disappointing. Maybe it was just my luck and the chef was off sick. I hope that was the case as the reviews for this restaurant are really positive. If I'm in town again and decide to give them another shot, I will adjust my review accordingly.
