This location is inside the Festival Foods grocery store. The food is sensational! Highly recommended if you love breakfast. The pancakes were awesome, but if you're thinking traditional fluffy buttermilk cakes, that is not what you'll get. Lefse and their potato sausage... delicious! They also showcase their bakery goods that you can buy up front.
Fantastic hidden gem offering a large menu with equally generous portions. I had the salmon scramble, which included a whole filet atop a three-egg blend of cheese and peppers and a multigrain pancake…delicious. Don’t let the entrance dissuade you, as you have to enter the grocery store first. However, the position of the restaurant allows you to dine without seeing the store. The menu, prices, and portions make the visit well worth it.
Update: I still find myself thinking about their Swedish Wantans. I long for the next time they cross my lips. Do yourself a favor and get some... Originally, I stopped in for brunch with my 9 year old. We tried the Swedish pancakes, delicious, and the Swedish omelet, bland. The Swedish Wantans were fire. I highly recommend trying them. I'll be back for them alone. & I'm quite confident there's even more deliciousness just waiting to be enjoyed off their menu. Parking: In a grocery store of the deli. There's a nice dining area away from the public.
This place is located inside L&B. The restaurant is clean and the server was really fast being she’s the only working in the morning I went at 630AM. The menu is quite overwhelming but everything my table ordered tasted delicious! All plates were cleaned and it was the perfect amount. The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of eggs in the Norwegian Lefse breakfast. My daughter had the chocolate kolache and it was very soft and moist.
Located inside Festival foods, this is a great breakfast place! We ordered Swedish pancakes and Swedish Pyttipana. I substituted toast with Lefse. The food was great and the price was roughly $12 a plate. Our waitress, Mena, was very friendly and helpful! Great and fast service!
Little gem hidden inside the grocery store. Food was awesome. Pictured is the Swedish Lefse breakfast and the Grecian omlette. Highly recommend both.
One of the hardest things about ordering here is that there are so many delicious options! I always have a hard time deciding. It's one of my top places to go to for brunch. At my latest visit, I had the swedish wontons they were SO GOOD--they should have this at the State Fair, the salmon scramble great portion size and very tasty, and the dill sauce and salsa that came with it was a yummy combo, and I had their wild berry smoothie that they top with whip cream also recommend I also enjoy their Norwegian lefsa breakfast and their sweet scandinavian lefse breakfast. Oh, do try their hot chocolate. Their cakes made to order are also wonderful and the price is reasonable with the quality and size of the cake you get. Recently I ordered their Hummingbird Torte. I tend to prefer "lighter" cakes and desserts rather than rich-tasting ones say like brownies or very chocolatey things...and this hits the spot. I was expecting the fruity flavors to be more apparent, but it's quite good and the cake is moist with a good ratio of cake to icing. In store, you can buy various jams, like lingonberry, gooseberry, cloudberry my fave, etc. They also have displays filled with various pastries and other sweets. I've had only good experiences with the people who work there--kind, helpful, and friendly.
What an excellent hole in the wall cafe/restaurant! We were looking for something besides the normal IHOP/Denny's fare for breakfast, stumbled upon this, and gave it a second thought when seeing it was inside the grocery store located here. We decided to give it a shot and were not disappointed in doing so. We ordered the belgian waffle and normal breakfast items, as well as the Norwegian Lefse Breakfast and Chunky Cinnamon French Toast. All of the above were great, but especially the Lefse Breakfast and French Toast pictured! I don't make it to Minneapolis too often anymore but will be sure to stop by next time I'm in town. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
My favorite breakfast place, I love the Pico de Gallo salsa that comes with the Norwegian lefsa breakfast its the perfect combo.
The food here is very good! Pancakes are fluffy and delicious. The swedish wantons we're a hit. My table also got the lefse with fruit which was generously stuffed with fruit and a chicken lefse wrap which tastes great. You can get a good cup of coffee here too in a clean, calm, yet friendly atmosphere. Don't skip the bakery they're good too! It's inside a store and it was very nice for brunch. Vegetarian options: They had delicious and filling breakfast options for the vegetarian
