I loved this place when I visited for dinner! Very flavorful dishes! There was only one vegetarian dish on the menu , but that one dish was delicious! The veggies and the coconut stew were such a glorious combination! I’d whole-heartedly recommend this place in Ellsworth for a spot of Jamaican food!
Very good food, the sauce on the jerk chicken was great. The steamed cabbage was a tasty surprise I liked. The hostess was pleasant and friendly. Give it a try and you might find you like it.Food: 4/5
We passed this place on our way to Acadia and had to stop. The food was amazing. The fish fritters with pineapple aioli tasted like dessert. Our main courses were also fantastic! I had the coconut curry shrimp with extra veggies and he had the jerk chicken. The hot sauce is awesome. Ask for it on the side so you can moderate it.
On my vacation in Maine, June 2022 my friend V found this Jamaican restaurant. I never thought this could be but there it was, kudos to them. We had wings, "Yah Man" chicken Sandwich and coconut curry shrimp with rice & peas. Our meal was very delicious the server was ok she checked on us but her energy was very low and her attire could have been a bit more presentable especially for a sit down establishment. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our meals. Parking: Free parking.
First time trying Jamaican food. We LOVED it! We had the Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Yah Man Chicken Sand and fresh Fruit Punch. It was amazing!
Man... This place hit the spot! After a long day of biking and hiking in Acadia we decided to stop by here and man was it worth it! My wife got the coconut curry shrimp and I got the jerk chicken and both were awesome. We also got a side of plantains with their pineapple coconut sauce and it was some of the best I've had anywhere. Don't sleep on this place, it's some of the best food in Maine.
Service was good. Food was excellent. We had jerk chicken wings and fish fritters for appetizers, and shared oxtail with peas and rice for entree.
Got lunch from Taste Jamaica today and we were so satisfied with our lunch order. Must stop by and try some of their delicious dishes. Jerk Chicken with rice, beans and steamed veggies Jerk BBQ ribs with rice, beans and steamed veggies And a Toto cake dessert which is coconut cake with pineapple aioli
Omg—SO GOOD. The sauces pineapple aioli on a chicken sandwich? YES. Everything on the menu is seasoned perfectly. Thai chili chicken wings are so spicy sweet, but not too much of either one. Awesome selection of bottled beverages. We’ve been three times already in the last couple of weeks why haven’t we been going since they opened??? and we will continue to be long-term regulars!
So delicious! We tried the oxtail and curried goat for the first time ever and loved them! Definitely recommended! The owner was very kind and personable too! Currently outdoor dining only, so plan your attire accordingly!
