Good decent sushi in Markham. They offer prepared fish and can request to have the fish sliced. Fair pricing for hand rolls but will need to go early as these things goes fast
Absolutely love the quality of the sushi here. I’m not from town so when I come, I have to drop by this place. It’s more of a sushi grocery store. You purchase the items and bring it home to create your sushi dish. Very adorable for quality sushi.
Tried the lunch menu and felt prices were really high for what they offered. It's about $35-40 per person before tax, the nigiri set i had was ok but not mindblowing. The space is clean and bright. Also condiments and sauces here cost more than other supermarkets, i.e. kewpie mayo is $8 here vs $6 at other supermarkets.
The fishes are expensive but so good. I paid $3 extra to make a poke bowl. Definitely worth the premium cost.
Found out about Taro's Fish several years back per friend's recommendation. Never had bad experience with them! Always had fresh high-quality fish from this location. This store reminds me of the fish market in J-Town; after you select your fish from the fridge, you can have the staff cut them for you or bring them home as is. Price is reasonable for quality fish. Easily one of my top 5 places in Markham for sushi and sashimi platters.
