I’m going to start with no food should ever be microwaved in a restaurant. I watched my 3 enchiladas that cost just under 13 dollars be microwaved twice. Gross. Considering they had one other order, you’d think they’d take the time. Cold in the middle and cheese hard and greasy on the outside. The rice has literally zero flavor other than tap water which I assume came from a dirty rice cooker. The beans again, no flavor other than way too much cheese. I will be going without Mexican food unless I can make it down to southwest for now on. This is the fourth time I’ve given them a chance and always disappointed. Prepare for that.
So I first tried this place 4 months ago because they advertise lengua on their website menu. When I went in, they said they don't serve lengua. So I tried their steak tacos, and they were decent. Today I ordered them on doordash, and this time they called me and said they don't have steak. I understand it happening once, but seriously having the same issues months later? I wish I lived closer to Mexican town. I think it's important to be consistent with your menu. This would probably be a 4 star restaurant review if they could be consistent, or at least update their menu to reflect that they don't serve lengua which the site still says they serve it.
Don't mind the lower score for the atmosphere. You are not coming here for atmosphere. This place is amazing for its food. I've gone here twice so far but keep forgetting to take pictures because I'm too busy wolfing down my food before I get asked to share. I order the marinated pork tacos, chicken enchiladas verde and a traditional pork stew that is amazing. I will happily eat through all of this if the portions weren't so big! I love this place and have changed my shopping habits so I can be here when they are open. I'll be back soon and hopefully will remember to take pictures again.
Fantastic authentic Mexican flavors from a family Taqueria. Nice people. The Huarache was outstanding.
Quality stuff. I enjoyed. Drive from 30 mins away and would again. Great lunch. My theory of, All Mexican staff, all Mexican customers. That’s how a white guy tells the place is going to be good and my stupid way of choosing a place confirms I was right. Not any corporate nonsense just good food. Good prices. All foods considered non American burgers like say…..Chinese, Japanese, sushi, Thai, Mexican, middle eastern….if you see white peoples working for there avoid it. Hasn’t failed me yet. Anyways back to this place. Go try it. Enjoy it and leave a review and say you went here cuz I told you to
The food was top notch. I got two tacos, and chicken tamale meal. Everything tasted amazing, and I enjoyed both salsas given to us with our food. I will probably go back because I enjoyed it so much. I am giving three stars for the service. With my meal, I also ordered two more meals. Some Pico de Gallo, extra salsa, and three jarritos. The receipt just says custom amounts, and I did not receive the Pico de Gallo. He also did not hear me asking for three jarritos and charged my husband for another when picking up the food. Which could be true, but I can't tell because the receipt just says custom amounts and I did not receive something else I ordered.
Ordered the flautas, came with rice and beans, all were prepared very well and very tasty. The place was clean, no wash room and a bit cramped for a sit in. But overall very good. Parking: Its in a plaza with lots of parking
I was recommended to try these guys out by 3 different people that dont know each other in the same week. So i figured i have to give them a shot. Their customer service is nice but rushed. I ordered a ground beef taco and lunch steak fajitas. I ate them literally .5 miles away so the food is rated fairly. The taco was amazing but very oily. In fact ive had manyyy tacos and this one looked like it had all the oil from every taco i ate in my life in one taco. Still tasted pretty amazing. Very thin and crunchy. The beans looked like they were cooked last year but tasted like they were made last week. Very dry. The rice was pretty tasty and good. Yellow lettuce is a no no. Avacado was perfectly ripe. The peppers were cooked perfectly and the onions should have been a bit more carmelized. The steak was tasty but not all of it. Some pieces were very chewy and wow the oil again. Soo much oil. The flour soft taco was veryyy good and tasted fresh. The best part of this meal was the mild sauce, yes they were out of hot sauce. The cilantro is very powerful in every bite taken with this sauce. Now heres the worst part. The part that wont allow me to give them more than 2 stars on this review. The styrofoam plate was melted. After finishing the food i realized that these guys have yet to learn how to properly utilize styrofoam plates. DO NOT put hot oily food in styrofoam plates. Very sad. That is very disgusting and i will never eat here again. If it wasnt for that i would have given them another shot but im not interested in eating styrofoam. Just FYI use wax paper under all the food you put in the styrofoam so it doesnt melt. Common sense isnt so common
*Edit: I came to this place for lunch and dinner on the same day because the flavor of the food was so delicious and authentic. Lunch time : Place does have limited seating. Thankfully I went after lunch rush. This place has the usual Mexican food, aguas frescas and mexican flavored drinks and a very good lo mein. I had a couple tacos. They were nice size stuffed to the brim with meat. I also tried their chicken lo mein. It was delicious with fresh crunchy veggies. Thumbs up for the asada, chorizo, chicharrón, lengua, cárnitas and the pastor. Great value for the money. This place has people constantly walking in for take out. Great place highly recommend. Dinner : I had the quesadilla with lengua and chicharrón. It was excellent. Their tamarind water was delicious. It tasted all natural and not overly sweet. In summary this place is a perfect place for authentic Mexican food. If I'm ever in town again I will definitely find my way back and try the rest of their menu.
Disgusting.i order through door dash for the first time and my enchiladas were completely burnt and the chicken taco was just horrendous.... I'll just stick with grand azteca
