Reviews
I almost avoided this place based on the reviews, but i am so glad I decided to try it for myself. We got the evening buffet. Went around 5:00, and it was busy, but fast service. Excellent customer service/friendly staff/very attentive. Food was delicious. There was not one thing I tried that I didn't like. Nothing was greasy. Wonton soup was very flavourful the Wontoton soup seemed a common complaint on the reviews...not sure why?!. Huge variety of dishes. Food was proper temperature. I don't eat fish/seafood so couldn't comment on that, but my mom ate a couple types of shrimo and enjoyed it. Looking around me, everyone seemed satisfied with their meals. I recommend giving it a try : Picture is of me sampling pretty much everything but fish/seafood allergies
Super disappointed The chow mein looked, tasted, and felt like it was old of extremely undercooked. So disappointed, called to give then a chance to fix it. They told me it was the new cooks fault and told me to order another time to give them another chance. I do not like being taken advantage of and treated with no respect. It's sad to say do to the fact I got love for some of the staff there that I will no longer be supporting this restaurant. Most definitely not recommending them to anyone. We should be caring about the people who support the business not treating people poorly
There online menu was outdated the price was actually $27 and not $20 as shown on their menu. I wish there would have updated their menu because their food was not worth that price and I would have ate somewhere else for cheaper than that. The service was good to be honest, the restaurant was pretty clean never used the bathroom and the food was okay but not worth the amount they asking for in my opinion. Don't go by their online menu for the price because it is outdated.
*Picture is my actual order that is circled vs the initial order I received that is beside it* I recently made an order for my family of 5 and was given the wrong bag of food right receipt attached. We live out in Nanoose Bay, so it was quite a drive to pick up and take back home to hungry kiddos. I made to call to notify the owner that there was a mistake made. They told me they have to trust their employees and believe their word over mine. They believed I did in fact get all of my food. I was so taken back. My actual order was a healthy portion of food, but I only received a box of chicken balls with a small soup. She refused to give me a refund or help with gas money to return the bag I received. My kids were starving at this point, so I felt very defeated. I couldn't believe the owner of a business would not agree on any resolution. What happened to the customer is always right? All I wanted to was some compensation for my trouble. After 10 mins of expressing my concerns and financial struggles, she still did not give into any solution. Only after threatening a bad review, did she finally give into having a delivery driver come out to our property. After this stressful experience I feel I still need to inform people about this. This experience left a horrible taste in my mouth and I will never return. I hope this review can maybe bring the owner a change in heart about the importance of the customer's feelings and know that even her employees can make mistakes.
Had a delicious meal at Driftwood Parksville, but it was really the service that made the meal. Cindy was outstanding. She was so friendly and thoughtful, very attentive and went the extra mile. This was not the service we expected from a buffet style restaurant. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious but if anything we will be back to see Cindy. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. Parking: Lots of easy parking in their lot. Wheelchair accessibility: All one level, wide spaces between tables. Very accessible.
No mention of delivery charge, no mention of Shrimp in Wontons, no mention of Shrimp in Singapore noodles, have a selfish allergy so could not eat. Ordered egg rolls only to find out after my food was delivered they don't have egg rolls and haven't for quite sometime. This is our second time eating from here and definitely our last
Today Dec.2/2022...I stopped at Your restaurant today at noon.I wasn't feeling very well and didn't what to pass by bug onto anyone inside,so I ordered take-out. I ordered the same thing I always order; Chef's Special Chop Suey & a large steamed rice $24.00's and a six buck tip. I used to tell EVERYONE about the good food at Your establishment.....not any more. The mess that was presented to Me was 75% uncooked RAW broccoli as if it was thrown in as an afterthought. Two small shrimp, two bits of chicken and two pieces of red painted pork roast, that I assume was passed off as bar-b-que-d pork belly. There were also a few raw mushrooms with the mess of corn segments and god only knows what else. I took the order to city park and after eating the chicken & shrimp threw the rest out the window of My vehicle and You know what ?....even the seagulls and crows wouldn't touch it. I've seen more appetizing food on the ground under the Tilt-a-Whirl. All I've got to say to sum this up is SHAME ON YOU !
I've always driven past this restaurant and have always wanted to try it. Today, I decided to order a Combo F and it has exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing and well priced. The sweet and sour pork was made well with a good amount of sauce, the beef chop suey was full of flavour, as well as the Chow Mein. This was my first time having Breaded Almond Chicken and I would definitely have it again. I had the pleasure of talking to the manager to explain my thoughts on how good the food tasted. After reading some of the other negative reviews, I found her to be very polite and happy with my experience. I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who wants good Chinese Food as the other restaurants in the area can't compare!
Six of us dined on Jan. 12, the buffet was excellent, hot, fresh, great taste and great variety. It was the best meal we have had since Driftwood owners took over the Restaurant . Kid-friendliness: Children under 5 eat free Parking: Lots of parking
