This is the most friendly and comfortable coffee shop I've been to. It has a similar feel to a low key, quiet pub without the alcohol. Additionally, the cafe mocha I had was made by hand with fresh ground beans and real chocolate. There was no sugary taste that other chain coffee shop mocha has. Two thumbs up! Parking: Street parking. Lots of empty spots and was free. Wheelchair accessibility: Wide commercial double doors. No obstructions.
The coffee shop is frequently visited by local artists whose artwork is available for purchase. I asked another customer to open the door for me so I could access the space. Today, there was a welcoming group of people and a local musician playing in the corner. I enjoy the pre made vegan wraps, although they can get a little soggy after sitting for a few hours. The T.A.N Coffee team has a pretty awesome menu of hot beverages available. The washroom is large enough on the inside, so I was able to gain access, and there was enough room for my assistant. The site did not have any push-button access for independence. This is typical of this area's restaurants and coffee shops. I give it a 4 out of 5 for access issues, they have some great staff!
Love this local cafe SO much! Delicious drinks and treats, friendly staff with a beautiful + welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!Food: 5/5
Coffee was good. Cafe itself was filthy. Would not eat thereAtmosphere: 1/5
I’ve stopped in a couple of times. Friendly staff and casual atmosphere. The vegan sandwich is amazing!
Lovely, chill place! The barista was very nice. We played scrabble with our coffee's Food: 5/5
Hat tip to the staff who braved last Friday's frightful weather to be open. Lovely spot for a coffee or tea with your Valentine.
First time visiting this location. The atmosphere is calm, cozy and very inviting. There are many choices of places to sit and even more choices of food and drinks. I bought a decaf coffee, pecan square and a carrot cake muffin, all which were delicious. I will definitely be returning! BTW The employee who waited on me was very curtious.
I have to agree with the reviews about how rude or unwelcoming the staff are in this cafe. From order to coffee being made, you are made to feel as if you’re inconveniencing them. For some weird reason I tipped them a few bucks and was treated so poorly. The barista seemed disinterested and defiant of his job. The cashier was hostile and seemed upset. Anyhow, this was over a number of visits so it wasn’t just a one-off. Other posters complained about the lack ambiance or cold atmosphere and they are spot on. You feel like you want to leave as soon as possible which could be the cold staff but it’s also the cold decor. The cafe a few doors down is much more warm and welcoming. Their staff seem to actually like their customers, old and new. ***edited response to the owner: Hi there, my family and I were there in the Kentville location on Saturday afternoon. You may want to review or train your staff. It may also come down to personality. Serving coffee to the public may not be their domain or perhaps it’s not a value of the establishment. Either way we found what we needed at the Half Acres Cafe, so rather than whine and cry about the service I didn’t get at your cafe, I’ll save my time and just go there. Thanks anyhow but perhaps you should filter your staff at the interview process and ensure they enjoy working with people and the public
2nd time in. Great coffee and food. I had the spanakopita and the Tzatziki. Seems homemade — I’ve been to Greece and this is top notch for Canada. Prices seem to be higher as menu prices have literally changed overnight. Staff seems a bit curt. Tried to make polite conversation but was lectured on other matters. Maybe she was having a bad day? Nice place to sit and not too noisy for a cafe just background noise and conversation I was studying if that means anything. Overall nice place I’d try out again.
