I adore this spot for how true and authentic it is to the food they serve and the city from which it is inspired from. The place is narrow and the seating is limited so you can simply enjoy a quick meal with your friends or family. The focus is the food and the relationships you share with your company. Each employee was very polite and kind when taking our order, despite how close to closing we showed up. The food itself was great and the presentation was fantastic. All the combined flavours worked so well together. We ordered the cheese and spicy. That sensation of burning our mouths because we were too excited to eat was fun and I probably will do it again. The only fault would be its location, as it is not favourable to many people who don’t communicate in car, especially in winter. Though it was definitely worth the commute, I would love to see this expand into chinook or a place with many students. I wish this place great success and recommend everyone go! Thank you for having us! We will certainly be back again.
Found this place on social media and decided to try it out. Came here for their weekly Tuesday special where you can buy one and get second 50% off. Tried their original, cheesy, and ebiyaki takoyaki and they were all taste very good. Definitely would like to drop by again to try the remaining takoyaki types!Food: 5/5
We tried all flavors of the yaki. From highly recommended to least: cheesy, spicy, original, shrimp and crab. I would home-made this occasionally, their taste is very closed to authentic there is nothing special to its recipe tho and it only tastes the best when it's hot and freshly made, so try a few pieces first before taking it home. Wait time is fine for me as i expected. The only thing i recommended to the chef is trying using the stringed type imitation crab meat to give a contrary texture to the batter, but yes the cost will be higher.
Takoyami is the first location in Calgary offering 6 different flavours of , freshly made to order. This serves Japanese street food & bubble tea. The & were super tasty. The seafood feast box is a must try!
As the name suggests, serves takoyami we were 3 people and tried two flavours - sea food and cheese - good. Gets a bit heavy with all the sauces, so yes share with someone Food: 4/5
A delightful hole-in-the-wall! Truly “YAMI” takoyaki! We can never get tired of ordering these every chance we can get. There are a number of flavors to try too! Best for take out as the place is quite small, but they do have some limited bar-style seating if you want to eat on the spot.
A great place to get some takoyaki or musubi! This is a small restaurant located on 32nd Avenue that offers some nice quality Japanese dishes, namely takoyaki and musubi among other things such as bubble tea. The dishes are well made and presented, with good portions to justify the cost which I find fair. The spam musubi is my favourite and I highly recommend trying it out if you’re looking for a quick and tasty meal! There are a few seats and tables inside and the parking is just outside in the plaza so that’s not a problem. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is kept clean and tidy.
I was really excited to try this one but was a disappointed. We ordered 2 takoyakis, one spicy and one kaniyaki. Theyre both warm not HOT. One of my takoyaki was burnt and was covered with all the toppings. My sister loves the siomai tho. And the boba was not so great , i can taste the taro powder.
Quite good tako!! Have multiple flavour to choose from. Fresh made so u will wait about 10-15 mins. Taste delicious and its well priced. Strongly recommend the original or cheezy, so good not regret at all!!
Stopped in during mid-afternoon, and was able to order right away. Got an order of Original Takoyaki and a Strawberry Boba. Took about 10 minutes, since it was made fresh! The takoyaki was fantastic, with great taste and texture. The boba was..not good. But the specialty here is takoyaki, and they do it well!
