First time in this very nice restaurant. The food was delicious, we 2 adults ordered the guacamole and chips and 5 different kind of tacos + dessert. Everything was great and the girl who helped us was very nice. Parking spots available on the street.
Really cool spot for authentic style tacos. I specifically really enjoyed the brisket and fish tacos the most! Fast and friendly service, small cozy spot. We went during their Taco Tuesday special and it was quite busy so keep that in mind if planning to visit. My only minor grievance was I wish they had more hot sauce! Still worthy of 5 stars, but some house made hot sauce would really make them stand out even more. Vegetarian options: They offered 2 formula vegetarian tacos while we were there, but I'm sure they can be accommodating with their other menu items as well, very friendly staff. Kid-friendliness: Definitely a family friendly atmosphere, they have paper on the tables a child could draw on while waiting for food. Parking: Typical north end parking situation, usually some free street parking nearby.
We went to Tako Loko on a Friday afternoon for a quick snack. We tried the fish tacos and they were fresh, tasty and filling. The atmosphere at the restaurant is good and service was friendly. The menu is small so easy to choose, but I wish there were more seafood options, such as shrimp tacos and perhaps nachos.
I have the food twice , both on taco Tuesday cause the food is cheaper and why not . 5 star - no 3.7 - 4.25 probably Corn tortillas - dry and cold- would taste better if dipped in taco liquid Salsa - stop using flavorless tomatillo, don't mean it's green it will be tasty Brisket - tastes like meat boiled in salt water Fish - perfect combo , fish was and complimented the orange sauce Cochinita and tinga tacos are also great
I usually write tons of description like the taste the environment the service…but this time my Mexican friend said this is THE VERY authentic Mexican food and that’s everything!
Went for lunch today and ordered a couple pulled pork tacos. Service was really good and quick. Food was great! My only negative comment is the tacos were too small for $5. They were like kid size or mini tortillas. The three tacos for $10 on Taco Tuesdays is probably the best time to go. But other than that we had a great experience. Will definitely be back!
A bright and colourful spot with a very friendly staff. There is a good variety of tacos and sides. Great flavour. I particularly enjoyed the fish tacos and the chorizo tacos. They have recently renovated and added more seating.
Great Mexican place! Me and my wife really enjoyed it! Price is in line with other mexican places in Halifax but the food is really good! Vegetarian options: They have veggie tacos
Finally decided to hit up the authentic Mexican cuisine spot in my neighborhood and I'm very glad I did. It's a small spot so it gets a little crowded inside at dinner time but they have outdoor seating and take out. Customer service was excellent and the tacos superb. I enjoyed the brisket and chicken tacos with a side of rice and topped it off with a Corona to remind me of my days traveling to Mexico, what seems like forever ago now.
Their tacos taste good, but they are way too small. At 5.00 dollars a taco I can eat 4 of them before I start to feel full and a bit too much oil in the taco. It drips onto the plate. For the money paid I was expecting better. Kid-friendliness: It's a very open place and the people are nice. They need to hire more servers, though.
