The Taj Mahal brings to Schenectady not only delicious Indian food, but an enriching cultural experience for our customers and our community. Even if you are new to Indian cuisine, there is something for everyone on our menu! Our menu has assorted vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well as vegan and gluten-free options to suit all dietary needs and preferences! We can also make our dishes as mild or spicy as you please.

Our location in the heart of Downtown Schenectady makes us easily accessible from any direction. We are close to the highway, and close to many Schenectady attractions such as Proctors Theatre, City Hall, The Schenectady County Public Library, General Electric, Off Track Betting, and Jay Street Marketplace. We are also within close proximity to Union College and Schenectady County Community College.

Our lunch buffet hours are Monday-Friday, 11:30am-2:00pm. Our dinner hours are Monday-Sunday, 4pm-8pm. We also participate in the Schenectady Green Market from 10:00am-2:00pm every Sunday.

That place is certainly not what it appears on the outside. Entrance was pretty small but inside was spacious neat and clean. Food was good but not great and portions were a bit smaller.
The food is out of this world and exceptional. The owners and people that work there quickly become friends that turn into family. Very clean and super nice. 5 Stars Highly recommend!!!

Unassuming decor, reasonable prices, excellent food! We stopped in for a quick dinner before the show at Proctor's Theater and will definitely be back. The vegetable samosas were exquisitely spiced, the lamb curry flavorful and rich, and the rice cooked to perfection. The nan was freshly baked with slightly toasted edges.
