Since traveling to Mexico in Feb 2024, we have been trying to find an authentic style Mexican restaurant in Montreal. We did find this one that fits the bill.nThe food was fresh and delicious. We started with chips and guacamole. The chips were crunchy and freshly fried, and I would have liked more. The guacamole tasted just like mine, homemade. I did, however, find it quite expensive at $4.50 for 8 chips and 3 tbsps of guac.nWe then had, for our main meal, I had a beef burrito, and my partner had the carnitas platter.nThe Beef Asada Burrito was huge. The flour tortilla was filled with lots of grilled beef, lettuce, refried beans, cheese, and a bit of rice. Both red and green salsa were provided to up the spice factor and taste.nAs for the carnitas plate, it was served with rice, guacamole, black beans & 4 tortillas and carnitas pulled pork with pico de gallo. It too lacked some spice and heat but was filling for those with big appetites.nReservations are not accepted, so be prepared to wait. We were there Friday at 6:15 and the place was full. We did have a short wait, which wasn't too bad. Except for the fact that it was way too hot inside. It seemed like the AC was out. Even the staff complained.nYes, this is an option for Mexican food. Next time we go, we'll make sure itbis cooler outside.
Tacos Frida is my go-to spot in the city for amazing tacos. A stroll down the canal to the restaurant makes for a perfect day, and the experience is always worth it. I never miss out on their Birria tacos and the great drinks they offer. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious, authentic tacos.

I m from India.This is the 3rd time i went to Frida for lunch.Its awesome. The Mexican veg /nonveg food is highly recommended. The Tortillas were hot and soft.We were 3 of a family.We ordered 2 plates ,it was so filling after this i skipped dinner. The food was hot ,service good.There is waiting too at lunch hours too ,but worth the wait!!!!
Fabulous place! They had a birria special of the day and it was so good! My girlfriend had a bowl and she loved it. We also ordered two margaritas, one spicy one not. The spicy one had a great kick with 2oz of tequila. They have pictures of lucha libre wrestling on the wall which adds to the atmosphere. Will come back in the future.
