Tacos El Rey is one of my top 5 places for street tacos in Washington. I live in Vancouver, Canada and we have terrible tacos. The Mexican community is not as big as in the US and the food is tailored to .. sorry to say this but tailored to gringos. They have all the meats I like. Great place to go if you're down here before or after outlet shopping.
I was introduced to this taco truck by a friend and what a great find! I've only had their tacos so can't speak for their other food but the tacos are delicious. The prices are reasonable too compared to other Mexican restaurants. I'll definitely keep coming back here.
This has been my go to spot for the past 7+ years. After sweat lodge ? Taco truck. Need something quick ? Taco truck. El Rays is the best. The have vegetarian stuff and can make it almost vegan. Love this place with all my heart !
This was my meal. I ordered pizza birria, the consomé container was pretty much empty and I think they thought I ordered cheese quesadilla! It was mushy and not flavor. Pretty disappointed to say the least. This was my experience others might disagree.
What I love most about this taco stand is the quality of meat. I personally stick with chicken, steak, and pork. The meat is consistently lean tons of flavor. You can either eat outdoors undercover or they have a structure that's heated. They have many options for drinks including a couple homemade things like horchata. I believe they now allow you to order ahead online if you want to pick it up. They also have electronic payment available. If you're in the area and you want to grab some street tacos this is the go to!
I wish I could give this truck a better rating, since others seem to enjoy it and I believe the truck might be associated with the nearby restaurant of the same name, which I had a decent experience at recently. However, the first time I tried to go here, they were shut down and pulling out of the parking lot a full hour before "closing". The next time I went just a few days later, I ended up waiting a really long time for my food and it was just gross. I got a burrito and the beans and meat inside were dried out and I could tell no love was put into the food at all. It tasted oily and dry/burnt at the same time. Service wasn't much better. Seemed like I was annoying them by being there to purchase food. The salsas had a lot of flavor, but would be way too hot for most people to enjoy. After my wife agreed to how gross the burrito was, I ended up scrapping it and grabbing food for us somewhere else. It was clear from the service and the quality of food that they just don't care at this location. Maybe if I was Mexican I would have received better food and/or service? Unfortunately, I don't plan to go back any time soon to find out. The only saving grace? The horchata was excellent, ha ha! If I do go back, it will probably be for the horchata, not the food!
One night my wife and I were taking a taco truck tour and sampling tacos from different taco trucks within a reasonable distance from our house. This was a little outside of our range and where we could make it before things started closing. We were actually at another taco truck eating and talking to some folks at a shared table and they recommended this place. We added it to our list of places to visit. Well, we were finally in the area and so stopped in for some tacos. I got asada and carnitas, my wife got the same along with a chicken and also a pork tamal. All the tacos were great. This place made it to the top of our list of taco trucks. We both enjoyed the asada and the carnitas, and while the chicken was well seasoned, we just preferred the others. The tamal was excellent as well, probably the best we've found in the area. Next time we are up this way we will definitely be stopping in again and explore their menu a bit more.
I love love love their tacos. Authentic Mexican street tacos. The flavour is amazing and the green sauce has a perfect kick and tang to it. The steak tacos are the best. I’ve also tried chicken but the steak one is much better. You won’t be disappointed here!!
Their tacos taste good and everything, I just wish they would actually add the meat and veggies aa shown. Not just a couple pieces of chopped onion and a couple of old radishes. I've been going there for quite some time, but this has been happening consistently for the past year or so. I'm glad they have more business but it has quickly turned sub par.
Good tacos! Plenty of space to sit and eat in the shade. I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to reach from the freeway. I will definitely be stopping here again when I come through this way.
