Story

Tabora began in 1989 when Jane and Roger Eatherton purchased a 10-acre orchard in Bucks County, PA. Formerly known as Mager's High Hopes Orchard, it specialized in apple cider and seasonal fruit. Building on this, Tabora’s offerings expanded with family recipe baked goods, fresh jam and apple butter.

Jane and Roger quickly became well known to the local Bucks County farmer’s market community for their creative and high-quality foods under the name of Tabora Farm and Orchard. This memorable name of Tabora originated from Jane’s childhood home in Cape Town, South Africa.

Tabora grew and became established as a destination for home-crafted baked goods, creative holiday and deli inspirations. In short order, this exponential growth expanded their staff from 2 to 24 full and part-time employees.

Tabora Farm and Orchard operated for 20 years and was sold in 2008. Jane and Roger started a new venture in the Finger Lakes of New York as Tabora Vineyards operating a 250-acre farm supplying local and national wine and juice producers.

Never far from those early day’s roots, Tabora Farm & Winery is bringing back all those home-crafted bakery and deli offerings in a converted building built in the early 1900's. It’s distinctive Cape Dutch architecture reflects Tabora’s unique South African heritage. This new market will include a bakery, deli, honey, jam, and wine. Our vineyards are located on the Seneca wine trail. We plan to open in the Fall of 2017.

We enjoyed our fresh made-to-order hot sandwiches and salad with a glass of their own wine. There is an incredible selection of delicious in-house baked goods along with coffee and cheese and much more available inside.
Winery with separate store offering hot foods and gifts. Store offers unique food options with quick counter service. Wine was ok, food and baked goods were very good. Open tasting room with limited servers, all very nice. Wine tasting offered large portions. Plenty of parking. Just off main route on west wide of Seneca Lake.
While driving alone around Dundee, looking for antiques, I stopped in for lunch. The area was about to get drenched with another July storm and the shop/deli was a perfect place to take cover. I had quiche and a cucumber/tomato/feta salad. The crust on the quiche was perfect! It took a while to order, as everything looked delicious. I sat under the patio and enjoyed lunch watching the storm. It's charming and the food was great. I'll be back to taste the wine. Cudos to the gardener who created the succulent planters!!
We found this winery because I was in need of a coffee. Glad we found tabora winery. They have a great coffee, food on site and bring a cooler because you'll leave with some goodies to take home.
The winery is fairly new with a nice tasting room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The deli has great sandwiches and baked goods and they have plenty of space outside to sit and eat. Though we did have to wait quite a while for our order to be made.
Stopped at Tabora for a takeout lunch sandwich A Brooklyn pini And my wife had a Broccoli Quiche and small salad . all three food groups were wonderful. Thanks for a great lunch. Will stop again soon. Rob
Beautiful hidden gem! Highly recommend! The food is amazing, freshly baked pies that sell out everyday, and roasted chicken. The prices are great and the wine is as well. There is patio seating if you would like to sit and take out is an option as well.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food and delicious baked goods. If you are visiting or live in the immediate area this is a must to visit. They also have a nice selection of wines, focused mainly on the dryer varieties.
My wife and I visited for the Rosé in May event through the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. The male and female bartenders were accommodating because I’m a dry wine fan and my wife is a sweet wine drinker. They were able to appease both of our palates. We had a wonderful experience and of course the Marechal Foch and Rosé De Saignee were both amazing and very drinkable. We love the food at the cafe and love visiting your establishment when we’re in town. Kudos
The quiche!!! a bakery with so many choices it may have taken us a little longer than planned. Quiches were perfection, and generous portions. The cheese danish is every thing an danish is supposed to be. I can’t wait to go back and try their bread!
